rrasbe1
I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who is a bit nervous. I haven't heard anything from LSU, but I hope I will be invited for an interview. As December 1 has come and gone, I am getting more anxious by the day! Good luck to everyone in the same shoes. jmiller
are all of you instate applicants? I know they only accept handful of out of state applicants in their class. Any news about interview yet?
delta
I am an out of state applicant, but haven't heard anything about an interview yet. I sent my application in the very end of October.
PAdaddy
@jwdavis1, when did you submit your CASPA? @Jmiller I submitted mine on Oct 30 or 31st. I did however apply and interview last year and was wait-listed. I would imagine that those returning candidates have some sort of review/scheduling priority but I could be wrong (if that's why mine was reviewed prior to someone who submitted prior and did not make the wait list last year). I would tell you to be calm and not stress too much... it will all work out. One of the current first year students in the program has commented that last month he heard there were already near 1000 applicants. I would expect that number has grown significantly in the last month of submission too. There is a group of 5 or 6 members of the admissions committee (adcom) that are still teaching classes daily at the program, mentoring students and helping to run the program etc. So those 5-6 must cull through over 1000 applications between normal duties after teaching hours - I can only imagine the amount of workload those adcom members are facing right now. Be positive and remain calm ... it will all work out. JD

Do they send it up untill March or what? I do not know exactly, I know that i spoke with one of the ADCOM members 2 weeks ago regarding some additional info they needed to have on record and the comment was made that they were still reviewing candidates as well as trying to get grades posted for the current 2 classes. Trying to figure if I can make it back for kickoff. Lol Spoken like a man with an acceptance under his belt :) [ Jealousy ] Back to your hotel room at the Casino in Bossier/Shreveport YES, back to Lafayette.. Nope :) The interview process last year ran from around 1pm to near 5pm with the majority of that being time spent with current students (group discussions and tours of the campus). I believe the 1 on 1's were alphabetical ... but who knows, all that may have changed. JD
jazzyjoker
My middle name is Adam....Should I go see about dropping my last name today?? Lol. I skipped the tour last year because I'm very familiar with the hospital and med school.
jazzyjoker
Speaking of that, how are the facilities? One of the guys who came through our hospital on his rotations told me as far as classes, they are basically taught by the med school faculty, but the tests are made out by the PA faculty. I never did think to ask him about the facilities. That was one thing that really impressed me about South Alabama. Everything over there is brand new and state-of-the-art. I would think LSU has good stuff.

It's a teaching hospital and the primary hospital for indigent care in the are, so it's no Taj Mahal by any stretch of the imagination. All in all it's a very nice place to spend a couple of years learning a great profession IMHO. - JD
