Guest drummer86
Hey everyone I've been having trouble passing OSCEs Its the last rotation this month and if I fail one more I will be terminated from the program (we have a 3 failure policy). Its not that I don't know the material, but i just get nervous and forget to ask things during the OSCE. Somtimes i forget family history, or parts of the physical, etc etc. Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas on how to practice by myself for these and what to do to get this all in order. I don't have anyproblems on rotations and am calm but when i am being tested and video recorded i just get wound up and lose my focus and get lost. Please help!:saddd:
cbrsmurf
Talk to your instructors? Have them practice WITH you so when your OSCE comes, you are used to it.
NewtonsApple
Maybe record your self conducting and interview than watch, critique, and do another one. Pack in as many as you can with various patient complaints. If you can have a friend be the patient and think of random complaint to present to you that would be even better. Good Luck. xrayben
Drummer I understand your pain. Our whole class had to do the osce before we even went on clinical rotations. I found this book to be very helpful. And I found a friend to be extremely helpful to be the patient. http://www.amazon.com/Mastering-OSCE-CSA-Structured-Examination/dp/0071350128/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1309989821&sr=8-
