Experience/Shadowing for PA school.

Recommended Posts

With the economy being tight and millions of ppl jobless and going through so much hell, how did u all manage to get experience working as CNA/EMT/ETC? I have my CNA certificate and have been through all teh nursing homes to look for a job and they are not offering any :( I have been through so many places now looking for anything that offers direct patient care (paid or volunteer) and they ALL said NO! Not even volunteer and at the hospital they don't offer anything for any students, except volunteer services that only allow paperwork..SUCKS! I don't know what to do. I have some experience already, but the place I worked at no longer allows me helping out because of regulations...I don't know what to do and I really want to do PA school next year..at least.

don't see a local shortage despite more nursing programs than you can shake a dead cat at. Is the area you are living/looking at saturated with CNAs? Perhaps it may be time for a move.

Also have you checked Craigs List to see if there are private job offers from people wanting care in their own home? Set up your own business and go for it.
