Looking to shadow in Chicagoland area/Northern Illinois area

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I've been having some trouble finding a PA to shadow in the Chicagoland area. I contacted the IAPA, and they gave me a list of people willing to be a mentor, but no one has answered my emails in two weeks (I understand it's customary to "get to know" the PA before asking to shadow them). Does anyone have any additional resources or are there any PA's in the area willing to allow a student to shadow them?

Thanks!

Hi my name is Jennifer, I would love to apply to PA school, but I’m having a hard time to find a PA to shadow. Does someone have any suggestions  in Miami area?

      Hi everyone!

My name is Rachel and I am an upcoming PA student starting in May 2019 at USF's PA program in Tampa, Fl.
I got my clinical experience first working as an EMT for an ambulance company, but later switching to being a medical assistant for a private practice dermatology experience in Plant City, FL (about 30 min from Tampa). I gained such valuable knowledge from both jobs! I currently still work for the derm practice, but will be leaving when I attend PA school. I just wanted to reach out to the pre-PA community because I'm sure there are a number of you who are looking to get clinical experience, and I wanted to see about giving the opportunity to someone who could gain valuable experience from this position. and FYI you do not need a medical license for this job, they do on the job training. I work here with the doctor as well as the PA.

If you're interested, let me know and I'm happy to answer any questions and put you in contact with my office manager. :)

Hello, I am a student doing my bachelor's and was wondering if there are any PA in Long Island -preferably in Northwell or Winthrop hospital - that are willing to take a shadow on. I am trying to get my shadowing hours complete before starting CASPA. Thank You!

What is the process of creating a clinical site or at least an affiliation with a doctor or organization for one student to do a rotation at? I have been desperately trying to get clinical rotations in CA, my home, while I am currently out of state. I have situational depression and I know that being able to do rotations back at home would help immensely with my focus, happiness, and health, but my school won't budge in helping me. Their reasoning was that it's too much work for them to make affiliations with new sites. I have found doctors willing to take me in for rotations though, so the only thing left would be the paperwork which I thought was in large part filled out by the preceptor. Does anyone know anything about this, and if so, could you please help me understand?

My name is Talia and I plan to be a PA.  Right now I am a sophomore in HS and I have great grades and will be looking for programs next year.  I'd like to have my first shaowing experience, so I am open to specialty.  I just need a break.  I am available all hours over the summer and after school in the fall.  Thanks!
