Joint Injection Steroid Question

New family med PA here. One of the docs in the practice routinely combines  80mg of depomedrol  with 10 mg of dexamethasone and a few cc's of lido for a shoulder or knee injection. I've never seen this in the literature and always stick to 40 mg of depomedrol + lido in a knee or shoulder. Thoughts?

I've never combined two different types of injectable steroid.  I do use both lidocaine and marcaine in the same injection pretty regularly, though.

I usually use kenalog + marcaine.

I use depomendrol + lidocaine 2% plain on large joints because supposedly marcaine is more cytotoxic to chondrocytes

Kenalog-40 and 1% plain Lidocaine on pretty much everything - shoulders, Carpal tunnel, knees, bursa etc.

I use kenalog, dexamethasone and 1% plain lido....works well.
