Hey guys! I am also waiting to hear back from UK's PA program. This "mid to late July" is giving me some anxiety haha...

Did you guys apply to only Lexington, or both Lex and Morehead?

Has anyone heard anything?

From what I understood you could apply to one or the other this year, not both. But I applied to the Lexington campus as well!!

Last year I think it took them a week and half to get emails out for interviews. I applied to the Morehead Campus. When I talked to Julia she said they are only allowing us to apply to one campus.

Really? There was an option to apply to both campuses on the supplemental application, which I did. I would much prefer Lexington though :/. Keep me updated if you guys hear anything back.

The campus that you get an interview to will be the one you selected on CASPA!

I hope that they tell us this week!!!!

I heard from another girl who applied to Lexington that she heard they mailed out interview invites on Friday... but I was thinking they'd email them.

Excited to interview on 8/11 at 1 in Lexington. Does anybody know what e-mail we should be sending our updated HCE and shadowing hours to? I'm not sure if It's going to Julia or a different address.

There is an awesome organization called ThePAC (Physician Assistants of Color) that holds diversity events in multiple cities across the U.S. The next one will be in Detroit, Michigan on September 28, 2019. The event is a great opportunity for all three levels of the profession! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/thepac-takes-detroit-tickets-70091765357
Pre-PAs get to talk directly to program directors from the local/surrounding region (this event will have 7), and get specific advice about their application profile from programs directly as well as experienced PA students and PA-Cs.
PA-S  and PA-C get to fraternize and network with each other as well as tap into resources such as job recruiters, financial advisors, and transition to practice information.
There are always lots of giveaways such as medical equipment, PANCE/PANRE prep, discounts on scrub companies, and more.
This event is open to any and everyone no matter the race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
If you cannot attend this event, give them a follow on IG @thepa.c or FB 'Physician Assistants of Color' so you can get notified of when the next event/location will be.

I have written my personal statement and mentioned that I am bilingual in English and Spanish. My native language is English, but I have taken 10 years of Spanish courses and would consider myself pretty fluent (I use my Spanish daily with patients in an inpatient setting). Has anyone who has had past interviews, and is bilingual, been given an interview question in their second language? This could just be pre-application anxiety, but I see myself potentially walking into an interview already a nervous disaster and then just totally blowing it if they asked me a question in Spanish that I didn't quite understand. Thanks in advance!

      Hi everyone!

My name is Rachel and I am an upcoming PA student starting in May 2019 at USF's PA program in Tampa, Fl.
I got my clinical experience first working as an EMT for an ambulance company, but later switching to being a medical assistant for a private practice dermatology experience in Plant City, FL (about 30 min from Tampa). I gained such valuable knowledge from both jobs! I currently still work for the derm practice, but will be leaving when I attend PA school. I just wanted to reach out to the pre-PA community because I'm sure there are a number of you who are looking to get clinical experience, and I wanted to see about giving the opportunity to someone who could gain valuable experience from this position. and FYI you do not need a medical license for this job, they do on the job training. I work here with the doctor as well as the PA.

If you're interested, let me know and I'm happy to answer any questions and put you in contact with my office manager. :)
      Rachel
