Highschool Volunteering

I doubt it would hurt, but I also doubt it would help that much. If you progressed from Candy Striper in HS to CNA in college, that's a worthwhile thing to add, showing a trend from patient interaction to patient care--that I would definitely include. Likewise, if you had leadership experience or service to the underserved, I'd make a point of including that, if it shows an ongoing trend of responsibility and service.

 

On the other hand, if you just have a bunch of nonspecific in-school service hours like volunteering in the attendance office, I might consider leaving those off. If you had a TON of volunteering in HS, and almost none in college, then you'd want to explain what changed in your PS.
