d-wade
Hey guys, I'm applying as an out of state resident this month. I was curious if you can upgrade your tuition status as a resident once you have been in the state for a year. I was doing some math on tuition and out-of-state is around 108k. Can you petition to gain residence status while in the program? Thanks!
Holly_Diana
When I interviewed there last cycle they told us you could.

PAGuy55
Any out of state students change their residency after a year?
TeacherPA
I don't know if students have actually done this, but at the interview they implied you would be wasting a ton of money if you did not apply for residency status after year 1, so I imagine they must. Multiple people said to start switching to NJ residency (getting a drivers license, etc) ASAP after moving there because you won't have a lot of time once school starts. Hope that helps!
