oopss, i see them now. sorry about that lol...i guess my rejection from is pace is on the way too bc i have similar stats and really thought i might get an interview with them...but i'll continue to cross my finger

I actually have the same thought. I have similar stat as well. But, I want to keep being optimistic. Good luck to all of us!

@ckl257 and david89 I know it is easier said than done but don't focus so much on your stats. I think programs are looking for a specific type of student that fits with their program. Depending on each school it may not matter if you have a 3.0 or 3.7 GPA, if you are NOT what they are looking for you wont get in. My GPA meets the minimum requirements but I have done a TON of community service. I was shocked when PACE rejected me but I was invited to interview at both Stony Brook and Quinnipiac (which I consider far better schools). Rejection is hard but try to focus on the positive like NOT being rejected by Cornell! Best of luck!

I am new to this forum and I apologize in advance if this question is out of line.... BUT.... I would greatly appreciate your input / insight into my credentials for acceptance into PA programs.

I consider myself a bit of an 'outlier', e.g. 55 years old, engineering education / experience, home medical HCE vs typical, dated coursework, etc. I took Microbiology and Physiology this summer at a junior college. Pulled As in both.. top 2-3 students in both classes out of 150 students in each. Currently taking Anatomy at same 2-yr college. Planning on taking Genetics and Biochem at UofU Jan 2013.

A critical question / issue is how the admissions committees would likely consider my age and professional background vs mainstream PA applicants.

Thanks in advance for your consideration in reviewing and providing insight...

Hello PAMAC!

I have a question for you :) I am a medical lab scientist as well. I've been working in this field for more than two years now. But I guess you know the deal- No patient exposure= extremely difficult to use the lab experience in our PA school apps. How many hours of direct patient care did you put in before being accepted?

PS: cumulative gpa- 3.4

Science gpa acc. to CASPA-3.6. Do I stand any chance??

Patachok,

Hey! your stats definitely look good enough to get into PA school!! I think the only thing fighting you right now is actually how late you submitted your CASPA. There is definitely still hope but the earlier you submit the better chance you have on getting an interview. Mailing applications out in June can make all the difference. Good luck! I think your GRE scores should be fine but it doesn't hurt to retake it ...

I don't have great stats, but I applied to as many schools as I could...which I think really helped. Also, if you are waitlisted, continue to show you want to go to that school by sending in extra LOR or updating your work information.
