Hi. I was verified July 9th, but haven't received an email from Barry saying that they have received my application. Anybody in a similar situation? For those of you who did get an email, how long did it take after your CASPA was verified? I applied to the St. Pete campus. Thanks!

I called last week and they said they were having issues downloading applications from CASPA but could see that mine had been received. I still don't have an email; maybe they're just behind. I also applied to St. Pete campus.

I will also be attending the September 18th interview in St. Croix! I will be staying until the 19th I think. My boyfriend will be joining me. He travels for his work and I have no idea how to navigate an airport.

For those of you whose application was verified, does your official GRE scores show on your application for Barry? My application only shows my unofficial scores in which I reported however on my application to other schools, my official scores are reported. I have contacted CASPA numerous times, however, they are not answering my question and I can never get through to their phone system; thus curious if same issue for others?

Mine is doing the same thing, I applied for the St.Petersburg campus and all GRE scores go to the Miami Campus. I called them to confirm that they had received my scores despite them not showing up on the PDF. They have my scores so perhaps call to confirm? I sent GRE scores over 4 weeks ago.

Barry does not have a CASPA GRE code, they have their own. So on your caspa, your official scores won't show on the Barry PDF because the scores weren't sent with a CASPA code. I hope that makes sense! You would have to check with Barry if you're concerned about your scores being received, not CASPA.

Hey you guys, i just joined the forum. Im applying to Barry University Miami campus. I am still waiting on CASPA to finish processing my transcript..Is anyone still waiting on CASPA to finish up somethings?? I'm feeling anxious over here.

I'm done with everything CASPA-wise, but take the GRE August 30th. After I send my score, they will consider my application complete. Don't worry, its still early! As long as you've finished your part, you're good.

I actually just received an email from them yesterday (8/11) saying they have received all of my materials and are just waiting on my GRE scores. I was verified July 15th. So, it looks like roughly a month, but it may be a bit longer now since August is considered the "high-volume" timeframe for application submission/verification.

My CASPA was verified on July 7th and I got an email saying they had that and my GRE scores on July 28th. Haven't heard anything since, but I'm hopeful for an interview! I applied to St. Pete's campus. Good luck to you!

congrats!! did you happen to receive an email on confirmation of a completed app before the interview invite? I was verified the same day and have heard nothing. I have met and exceeded all of the requirements as well, and have applied to the Miami Shores campus.

In the same boat--verified on July 10th and applied to Miami campus and have heard nothing. Been calling and leaving voicemails but no reply. I have exceeded all of the requirements so I know that isn't an issue with the lack of communication. Let me know of any updates please--good luck!!

Appreciate both of your answers! Turns out I was carelessly going off my CASPA submitted/paid date instead of my verified date which was over a week later. Hopefully I'll hear something in the next week or two :)

      Hey guys,
I'm currently considering applying next year and was wondering if anyone could share their stats for getting into nova or any other school in florida, especially how many pce hours, since they don't seem to require it but I'm not sure how many most applicants have.

Hello I'm new to this website and forum but I have a plan to continue my education to become a Physician Assistant specializing in Dermatology. I wanted to hear from PAs or students who are in the minority specially the African/black community. I am a 24yr old Female, Jamaican-american. I plan on applying to a PA program here in Florida in the next 4 years, and was hoping to get some more information and advice please!!
I will be attending an accelerated program (5-6months) to be a Medical Assistant (Sept.- Feb. 2020).
After I am licensed in MA, I would like to reapply to UCF for my biomedical sciences degree. Where I can get in my hours for healthcare experience as an MA and finish my bachelors before applying to PA school.
I have just a few concerns:
      1. Is becoming a MA worth it before PA school? or worth the money to go to school for?  I'm worried because most companies here are looking for bilingual MAs. I do want to learn another language preferably Spanish, but later on while I get my B.S in Biomed (Also I do not want to be CNA or RN).
      2. Is a biomedical science degree more looked at to enter a PA program? Which degree/major is also acceptable if I decide not to go the science route but I make sure I take my required science classes?
      3. As a minority do we have an advantage or disadvantage to enter a PA school?
      4. Does anyone have experience as a PA student either at NOVA or Barry University? If so, how are the professors and the overall work load?
      5. After becoming a PA, do we experience racism throughout the country in our profession? (Regardless if we do or not, no one is going to stop me from doing my job correctly, I will treat every race with respect. I would just like to know because I'm curious since again there is not many of us as PAs.)
      6. How was the job search for you as a minority? How long did it take to land a job in your specialization?
      7. Are there any forums or websites to find a black PA to shadow? or if anyone can refer me in central to south Florida locations?
      8. I am highly interested in this career but want to know if this profession is worth committing to and seeking a job for in the years of 2024-2028? I know that's a stretch time but I like to be prepared lol
      Thank you for your time!!

Hi! Im a Biology student at FIU, currently taking my pre reqs for PA school. I am finding it quite difficult to find a PA willing to let me shadow them. I have emailed some. A couple responded stating that they weren't allowed to as they work in a private practice. I know a couple of NPs that will let me shadow them, but of course my school requires a LOR from a PA.
Anyway, my email is dbrow251@fiu.edu! If you know anyone or are a PA willing to let me shadow them, don't be afraid to message me. I will of course provide a copy of my resume!
      Thank you!
