Interviewed 12/11 and just got my acceptance letter!!! So excited to begin my journey at Charles Drew! Good luck to everyone still applying!

Just to let everyone know for those who are asking about what the interview was like, they had us sign a nondisclosure statement saying we would not reveal anything about how the interviews were condu

Just got accepted!!!!

are you concerned with how new the program is?

I'm not concerned about that. New programs almost always end up receiving their accreditation because there is such a demand for PAs. Plus, I think it would be cool to be part of the inaugural class at a new program. Fewer classmates, too!

I think this will be an excellent program. They have had a program before and are WELL aware of what it takes to achieve and maintain accreditation. I also suspect they will have terrific rotations because of their affiliations. In the past they had an affiliation with King/Drew Medical Center which was one of the county-run level 1 trauma centers in the inner city. I had a cousin who graduated from their program and worked at King/Drew Medical Center and had great exposure to various types of trauma and illnesses.

Congrats and good luck!! When did you submit your application? How did they notify you of the interview?

Thank you very much and good luck to you as well! I was verified on May 18th and received an invite via email on July 27th.

@Laur_ek @kelseySD have you ladies decided on a hotel? I live about 1.5 hours away so I am debating staying somewhere but the only ones that seem safer are by LAX and there still will be traffic getting to Drew! Ideas anyone else who has booked a room?

I haven't decided on one yet! I've heard that safety wise we should be good if we stay West of the 405 and South of Rosecrans Ave., so I was looking at the Springhill suites Hawthorne/LAX and a few others around it. Would love to hear if anyone else has booked one yet! :)
