2015-2016 Wake Forest University Application Thread

Recommended Posts

Mine is completed and submitted as of early last week. I'm not sure what my GPA will be calculated as through CASPA, but my cumulative GPA looks to be around 3.25, and my science GPA is a 3.8, with my last 60+ hours being 3.70-3.80. I have more than 4,000 hours of healthcare experience with underserved populations, a masters degree in another field, and strong connections to rural healthcare, so hopefully I'll be competitive!

I am out of state, but I chose Wake (and all my programs this cycle) because they seem to have a more holistic review of applicants and value more than raw GPA numbers alone.

I guess we'll find out in a few short months!

I emailed Wake Forest about the supplement about a week ago. I was told they 'download' the applications at the end of the month, review them, then email out the supplemental info. Don't be surprised if you don't hear anything until the beginning of July.

FYI, received an email from Wake Forest today stating that they were in the process of downloading my CASPA application, but were having technical difficulties. They stated they would be in touch with info on the supplemental.

When I visited the campus for an open house, they made it very clear that they look at the total person more than any one stat. One exception, reading between the lines, is that they have found the quantitative analysis portion of the GRE to be a good predictor of PANCE performance.

Recent applicant accepted to multiple NC schools. Wondering if it is worthwhile to attend some of the private, high-ranked schools or if it makes more sense to favor in-state tuition, especially with sights set on primary care?
Schools I applied to: Duke, Wake, Campbell, UNC, ECU
Would appreciate insight into any of the above programs, and whether the private schools really do give you a leg up!
      Thank you!

Just curious if any fellow PAs are working for Wake EM Physicians,PA in NC. If so can you please offer some information (pros and cons, fast track vs main, fairly compensated, the area etc)

      Thank you!
