jmj11
Headache is a disorder that mostly impacts younger people, before age 50. Yesterday I had a new record of age for a new patient . . . 101. I've seen a few in their early 90s before.
jdenning
Impressive - I think we'd all have headaches if we lived that long. I saw a 95 year lady with Parkinson's disease today. She has lost a lot of weight and I encouraged her to take more supplements and high calorie foods like ice cream. She said "what about my cholesterol?" and I told her that we don't worry about cholesterol in 95 year olds.
Guest Paula
I saw an 85 y/o for a sinus infection (it was her third visit and I was the third provider she saw). She was convinced she had a sinus infection because she had a headache, and the first two providers each gave her a different antibiotic, so she needed a new one, the other two weren't strong enough. So I ask a few more questions, look at her blood pressure and say holy cow, look at her ankles and say holy cow again, worked her up, she had new onset CHF and HTN, called her doctor and he admitted her. Headache went away after the CHF and B/P got treated. This is why I hate sinus infections as cc.
