NEW YORK: Marist College Developing Program

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd start a thread since they are a developing program. I was wondering if anyone else was thinking about taking the chance and applying?

@smccccc nice. They aren't rolling admission right? Also been trying to go on their website to look at the requirements again, but the Physician Assistant page has been removed.

I emailed them back in October and was able to get a response.  I tried contacting them via email and phone when I noticed the website no longer had PA program information but did not hear back.  I did a quick search on google and found an some new information.  I'll post the link but I'm not positive it will work.

Yes, I am a bit skeptical. I haven't submitted my application yet. Don't think I will, but I have been in contact with them. I called back in December and they were pretty receptive and even sent me a program information packet. However, since than they have taken down the PA information site, so a little hesitant.

Hi everyone,

I spoke with one of the admissions counselor. The PA program was removed from the website because they have not received any feedback from the state of NY in regards to their accreditation.  The counselor did mention that if they get accredited they will review all applications submitted and notify prospect students, it may be a few more months though!

Hope this helps :)

I also got the email yesterday that they have been granted provisional accreditation and will start reviewing their applications on December 1st for May 2016 start.  I then was asked to fill out a one question survey asking if I was still interested to be considered for this class.  I then mailed and emailed them updated transcripts/rec letters. Good luck to all!

How did you guys even apply to Marist? I had looked on CASPA when I applied and they didn't have a website for a while, thought maybe they weren't having the program anymore... but now the website is back up. Did they have it on CASPA and take it off prior to July? Or is there another way to apply?

They were on CASPA during the 2014-2015 cycle but were not posted on this cycle.

Oh.. weird. They waited a long time to review your apps then. Haha okay, thanks for clarifying!
