parc8000
I am looking to tune up my surg skills. I was looking at taking a 3 day course with NIFA, costs about 2400 dollars. I know it is not needed but was wondering if anyone has taken or heard anything about this course. Thanks
Moderator EMEDPA Posted January 6, 2015 Moderator Share Posted January 6, 2015 2400 bucks for 3 days? ouch... for that I would expect more than just simulated models. I would want cadavers, play with a variety of expensive toys, get a recognized cert, all meals catered, etc. ATLS is 800 bucks for 3 days with a surgical lab on interactive mannequins with all meals catered. rpackelly
EMEDPA, Where is the best ATLS course (cadavers or simulators) that you know about located?
Moderator EMEDPA Posted January 6, 2015 Moderator Share Posted January 6, 2015 EMEDPA, Where is the best ATLS course (cadavers or simulators) that you know about located? I usually do the one at Legacy Emanuel hospital, a level 1 trauma center in portland, oregon. They allow PAs to fully participate and get a cert card upon passage of written and skills tests.
