browndog
I have some CME money to spend and am looking for some self-study opportunities in EM. Can anyone offer some suggestions? I have completed the EM Bootcamp course and have completed the Urgent Care Core Curriculum course as well. Could use a good ECG interpretation course and plan on ordering the advanced Bootcamp course in February when available. Thanks!
Moderator EMEDPA Posted December 3, 2014 Moderator Share Posted December 3, 2014 there are online options for fundamental critical care support (FCCS) and adv. burn life support (ABLS).

Boatswain2PA
Amal Mattu also has a terrific book that has 200 EKGs in it with a one-liner patient description. Back of the book has great detail about the intricacies of each EKG. Great book.

browndog
I took one semester (2 courses) about 2 years ago. It was "ok". Basically a structured review of Tintinalli's with weekly readings and weekly vignettes which required online responses. Testing is online as well. I would have completed it; however at $13,000 it is very expensive for a "certificate" course. I only get $1500 a year in CME money annually so that would mean $8500 out of pocket. Frankly, I did not find it to be nearly as beneficial as say EM Bootcamp ($500 self study) or the Core Curriculum in Urgent Care Medicine (about $1,100). sunny2spot
Just got back from the Advanced Bootcamp and would say that the bulk of the conf was fantastic, but the EKG course was a little disappointing.
browndog
Great to hear it was a good conference. I will be ordering the self-study version as soon as it is available.
sunny2spot
They're holding another one in July, but I learned my Vegas-in-July lesson already.
browndog
I do better with the DVD version. I can take my time to pause and reflect on the material, or maybe take a deeper dive on a given topic in Tintinalli's or (more likely) hit the fridge.....or the john.
