DelusionalEnthusiasm
Hey guys, I am currently in my surg rotation and am finding that at the end of the day i have some sharp pain below my umbilicus in the muscle. I had a previously repaired very small umbilical hernia in 2009 which was just sutured closed, about 1/2-1cm in size. just wondering what your thoughts are, if the umbilical hernia might be reoccurring or if it is just muscle strain? maybe i need to start doing some abdominal crunches to strengthen the muscles? any ideas or input would be great
marilynpac
To be on the safe side, go get it checked out. I had a hernia repair, 3 mos later started exercising, about 6 mos later thought I had ripped it open again. Went to my surgeon, found out it was adhesions that were irritating the nerve. Received some steroid inj into the area and it's never bothered me again. Good luck!
