VPAC 0 Posted November 23, 2014 Is anyone aware of GI specific (or relevant) PI-CME? This is a new requirement for 20 hours every 2 years for recertification. None of the topics really relate to a GI specialty practice. I don't want to spend $250 to do a CME on improving vaccination rates or patient safety (recommended by the AAPA website.) There is only 40 PI credits due by the end of the 4th cycle (8 years into ten year cycle) So you could potentially wait till the 4th CME cycle and do the PI CME all then. Give time for development and approval of further PI CME including GI focused. So your cycles could look like this to gain as much time as possible: 1st cycle- 20 SA credits 2nd cycle-20 SA credits 3rd cycle-20 SA credits 4th cycle- 40 PI credits or spoon it out over the cycles: 1st cycle- 20 SA credits 2nd cycle-20 SA credits 3rd cycle-20 PI credits 4th cycle-20 PI credits The 100 total credits per cycle requirement still exists, 50 of those credits have to be cat 1. All SA and PI credits have to be cat 1. The official list resides at the AAPA site that is linked to from the NCCPA site. Did you put in a request for GI PI CME? Good luck.
