Should I Re-take the GRE's?

Recommended Posts

When are you applying?   I took the test without studying in Feb for this application cycle, and afterwards regretted not studying for the math.  I feel that the math can definitely be studied for to easily improve the scores.    I got nearly the same marks as you (158V, 149Q and 4.0W), and felt the same, not having taken a math class in years definitely showed.  Seeing the percentile of the quantitate score is demoralizing.   That said I have not retaken the GRE.

If you have the time and motivation to study and retake the test go for it, but otherwise I don't think it's going to kill all your chances.  Thus far I've received 7 interview invites, so I don't believe that the GRE affects it much.   Most schools say they just want a combined over 300, which you've met.      (Though I'm in the application cycle now, and haven't heard back about any acceptances, so take my opinion with a grain of salt)
