CAtchall Posted September 3, 2014 I'm really excited to start the program in January. Currently I live out of state and so finding a place to live is dreadfully challenging. Any suggestions as to an area or, even better, a quiet complex with tolerable rent (besides the one in my imagination) a new PA student should live in?
CrossfitEMT Posted September 4, 2014 If you give some better ideas of what you are looking for, or need, it would be easier to point things out. The Tidewater area (Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach) is very diverse due to the military base briniging in people from all over. ~James
CStep Posted September 4, 2014 Alternatively, you could also look in the Hampton, Va or Newport News, VA areas just on the other side of the water. This would add to the commute but there are tons of houses or apartments for rent because of Langley AFB as well as Hampton University. Lots of stuff to do in that area as well, with a huge outdoor shopping malls, restaurants, and a pretty decent beach (buckroe beach) without having to go to VA Beach.
Joelseff Posted September 4, 2014 I used to live in Portsmouth when I was stationed at Naval Hospital Portsmouth....don't live in Portsmouth... VA beach, Hampton etc. was nice though. it's just the ocean is on the wrong side over there.????
CAtchall Posted September 4, 2014 Author I was really trying to stay in the Ghent area since it is close enough to ride from. Plus, it seems like a really safe quiet area. Where I live right now is very noisy, making it hard to sleep. I feel like low rent, proximity to school, and price are major factors. @CStep I like the idea of small house or limited apartment complex. Thanks for ya'lls input
