Hello!

My name is John and I have applied to Baylor and UNT Fort Worth PA school this year.  I was wondering how long it takes for them to ask you for an interview after seeing your application.  Of course, I'm assuming I get an interview.  Has anyone ever been interviewed there?  Could you explain your experience?  Also, I have heard that Baylor has recently lost accreditation.  Is that true?  Any relatable response would be great.

Thanks!

John, please work at getting your facts before posting. A simple internet search will yield the information that in June 2014, Baylor's program was put on probation. The issues, according to Baylor, were administrative, not academic. The majority of the issues, according to Baylor, have already been addressed. Typically, schools put on probation, have two years to resolve all issues, at which time they are given another review. During probation, the school remains accredited. Should a school eventually lose its accreditation, any matriculated students are considered to have graduated from an accredited program. Ordinarily, I would have ignored your post except that it is wrong and the record needs to be set straight. I am no defender of Baylor as my daughter found them very unresponsive and slow when she applied there last year. People who were supposed to get back to her never did. Perhaps the probation is well deserved. IDK. Please spend you own time doing basic research instead of posting heresay.

I said "I heard Baylor recently lost accreditation.  Is that true?"  I didn't state that it was a fact, yet I simply asked a question.  I claimed no facts in this post.  Thanks for the information, but I can do without the scolding.

Thanks!

You posted hearsay without checking for yourself. That is unprofessional IMO. I also suggested you get the facts. I didn't say your facts were wrong.

Take it easy you two...you're both wrong.  BCM's Medical Program was put on probation, not it's PA Program.  It's ARC-PA Accreditation has nothing to do with this.

      Greetings everybody
It's my first post here. I was desperate enough to Google and somehow ended up here.
I am a US IMG, last year, good rank (and once was first of my year on IM rotation), Step 1 done...
I am looking for a US clinical experience (a hands on elective rotation). I like IM, with all passion, and almost all subspecialties (and especially ID). I don't mind any subspecialty really, they all excite me haha.
I literally tried everything... I always end up with either an observership (which is not really nicely considered for the match), or just getting ignored.
I emailed a lot of doctors and hospitals, it seems like there's no use.
I know companies like AMO and those exist, but many say they're shady, many say you don't really do anything, and most importantly they're expensive for very lowly ranked hospitals. I don't mind a place with no particular rank, but doesn't make sense to pay that much money for something that should be free.
I am ready to pay my own insurance.
I'm out of time as my elective is due in like 3 months (and I need paperwork and such...).
I'll pay with coffee, kindness, smart questions, daily compliments and especially hard work.
Even if it's just hope with no real confirmation, I can try sending an email of my info + CV + motivation letter... And we'll see what happens. My dream is to catch a residency in the US so I could help, with my passion, as much people as I can knowing I did my job in getting fit as a good physician.
      Any help?

There is an awesome organization called ThePAC (Physician Assistants of Color) that holds diversity events in multiple cities across the U.S. The next one will be in Detroit, Michigan on September 28, 2019. The event is a great opportunity for all three levels of the profession! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/thepac-takes-detroit-tickets-70091765357
Pre-PAs get to talk directly to program directors from the local/surrounding region (this event will have 7), and get specific advice about their application profile from programs directly as well as experienced PA students and PA-Cs.
PA-S  and PA-C get to fraternize and network with each other as well as tap into resources such as job recruiters, financial advisors, and transition to practice information.
There are always lots of giveaways such as medical equipment, PANCE/PANRE prep, discounts on scrub companies, and more.
This event is open to any and everyone no matter the race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
If you cannot attend this event, give them a follow on IG @thepa.c or FB 'Physician Assistants of Color' so you can get notified of when the next event/location will be.
