Tissue Recovery and HCE?

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to get some feedback, suggestions, etc regarding a potential job.

I've worked as an Emergency Department Tech (2+ years) and a Navy Corpsman (4+ years), however, I find myself wanting to do something new. I have a possible job lined up as a Tissue Recovery Coordinator with a company here in CA. In your opinions, how would an admissions committee view this work? Would it still count as HCE?

Granted it's not working with "live" patients, but I think being hands on, as in excising the tissues/bones myself, would be an amazing opportunity to learn. I'm interested in possibly becoming a surgical PA so I figured this might be a good stepping stone to explore that pathway. Anyways, just wanted some input.

Thanks.
