Friction
Just wanted to get some feedback, suggestions, etc regarding a potential job. I've worked as an Emergency Department Tech (2+ years) and a Navy Corpsman (4+ years), however, I find myself wanting to do something new. I have a possible job lined up as a Tissue Recovery Coordinator with a company here in CA. In your opinions, how would an admissions committee view this work? Would it still count as HCE? Granted it's not working with "live" patients, but I think being hands on, as in excising the tissues/bones myself, would be an amazing opportunity to learn. I'm interested in possibly becoming a surgical PA so I figured this might be a good stepping stone to explore that pathway. Anyways, just wanted some input. Thanks. Blue Goose
I think that your current HCE alone would be competitive at most programs. As for the HCE qualities of the tissue recovery job, I don't know, but I think it won't matter for you. Would be an interesting conversation point during an interview, though. Friction
Yeah, I think my background is competitive but I am always looking to diversify and keep learning. Thanks for the input.
