What do you think my chances are? I've got the good grades/scores just not that much experience. I've had 18 credit hours practically every semester while being an RA and heavily involved in Cru and choir. Do you think I won't get offers because of my minimal experience? Thanks! JohnConner
Per ECU: Patient Contact Hours "We require that applicants have at least 250 documented healthcare exposure hours. All hours must be completed by September 1. These hours can be obtained through paid, volunteer or shadowing experiences." If you obtain 150 more hrs as you plan, you would meet the requirement. This is their official requirement so I'm not what they actually prefer but with your GPA, ECU seems like a good place to apply with stellar grades/low HCE since they have pretty lenient minimum requirements for HCE. aspiring_pa8
Hi Frankton, If you dont mind me asking, what school did you get into? I just became part of this site and I am in the same situation.. I applied last year and the admission committee said I had to raise my GPA. I am taking extra courses now but it still will not be enough. My GPA now is a 2.79 overall and 2.65 science GPA but I've worked as a medical assistant for the past 8 months. I'm gaining great experience.. This year re-applying will be my second time. DO you think I have a chance?

en1195
Did you get in? Any Advice....???? I'm applying for a second attempt to this school (UDM). I have interviewed with them and was so much fun! I had only one pre-req finished at the time of application. This is my school of choice. I have applied to others, but REALLY want this one!!! Any advice? They said that all was satisfactory to include: LOR's, PA essay, experience, and interview. They advised finishing my pre-reqs, increase my GPA, and increase my GRE score. I have done the first two, but the GRE retake was 2 points l less than the previous, so I'm using the old 293 score. STATS: CUM. GPA: 3.4 Pre-req GPA: 3.8 GRE revised version: 293 (min is 291 for UDM) HCE: Dental Hygienist for 12 years and Nurse Aide at Botsford Hospital for 1 1/2 years Volunteering: Malta Medical Clinic downtown Detroit (pt base is mostly homeless) & Ferncare Free Clinic in Ferndale (pt base is mostly working poor)
