Guest Willis
Hi all. Are there any PA's out there who are working in l+d, taking call, first assisting in gyn surgeries? I am heavily contemplating doing the obgyn residency in SoCal which would give me the education and certification to do these things, but...I am wondering how to find specialty jobs with these privileges once all is said and done?? I am not interested in working in just outpatient womans health. Any info or tips?
gloriarpac
I work in a city hospital with a residency program. I work in out patient clinic and labor and delivery. We help cover the floor in order for the residents to comply with 405. We are a part of educational part as well. we do not work in gyn surgery because we don't have enough cases to go around. I'm glad I never did a "residency" I got on the job training was respected and paid well while working 40hours a week. While it's nice to have the certification on the job training is just as important good luck
godlygirl1
I will be finishing up in the So Cal OB/Gyn PA residency program soon. Can you reccommend hospitals out west that are PA friendly for L & D, postpartum, and/or OB/Gyn surgical first assist. I have now started my job search, and any assistance would be appreciated. I thought once you graduate from that program, you will automatically have good job offers. Is that the case? It is so hard to find jobs nowadays.....hic hic hic
