Anthony T
I'm interested in eventually applying to St. John's University's program, but I see that they don't offer a Master's program, which I thought was a requirement to be a PA. All I see is a Bachelor's program and a "certificate" program for those who already have a Bachelor's (http://www.stjohns.edu/academics/undergraduate/pharmacy/programs/pa/admission.stj). Anyone know if this school has a reputable program? I intend on finishing my Bachelor's in Health Sciences and then start applying to PA schools... UGoLong
I don't know the program but there are some states where you are limited as a PA without a masters. Besides researching the particular school, you might want to look at states you are interested in working in. In Ohio, for example, you can't get a certificate to prescribe with an MS. Anthony T
I just saw on the website that apparently transfer students aren't eligible for the PA program. Nevermind. :(
Moderator EMEDPA Posted December 10, 2013 Moderator Share Posted December 10, 2013 masters is only required in 3 states. many practicing PAs today have a cert, a.s., or b.s. although most programs now give an m.s.
SoCalPA
Read that "no transfers" clause carefully. In the past I have interpreted this to mean you cannot have attended another PA Program and then transfer with advanced standing. Clarify.
