SHU-CH
No - programs can use whatever exam they wish, including their own. The PAEA exams have a few positives and negatives which quickly come to mind: Negatives: They are new and may be a little buggy. They scores are typically lower than on "in-house" exams. They faculty do not get to see the exams, so if a student does not perform well it may be more difficult to counsel them. They can be somewhat expensive to use. Positives: Less workload for faculty. The software platform is very secure - cheaters will get caught. They will eventually allow for student performance to be compared across a larger cohort of peers. They are designed to mimic the experience of taking the PANCE.
