problem child
how do people who have worked or are working as a clinical coordinator found the position? gratifying? overwhelming? what were your actual duties and responsibilities?
tunafish
From my experience, as a stand alone position, it is an RN job.

tunafish
yes -- academic position. sorry for not being more clear We used clinical coordinators for all types of clinical trials management: consents, sample collection, phone calls with Qs and adverse reaction etc. ALL were RNs. All were older people who wanted a bit less hectic life. The pay is less stable because the position is based on grants from either pharma or NIH, unless you are a part of academic center core, which is also NIH but guaranteed (more or less). Salaries were a bit more than regular clinic RN. Just my 0.

problem child
thanks all...doesn't look like there's experience out there but I was passed over for the job anyway - not enough academic experience.
