Hemegroup Posted November 4, 2013 I've got less than a thousand dollars left of my fifteen hundred allowance and trust me that I'm just thankful to finally have landed with an employer who is decent and covering the fees. That being said ... 4 weeks. Needs to be Category I and by all graces of God, online. Any tips?
Moderator EMEDPA Posted November 4, 2013 Moderator are you an aapa member? they have lots of free online cme. also you can do abls and fccs online for a few hundred bucks.
kbarro1 Posted November 4, 2013 I have read about this but never done it. I am in the same boat as you and thought about ordering it. http://ccme.coursehost.net/course/embootcamp It gives up to 26 credits then if you have done any BLS/ACLS/PALS, etc. then you can count those too
kbarro1 Posted November 4, 2013 not sure why it bundles what I said with the link lol. Here it is again http://ccme.coursehost.net/course/embootcamp
Administrator rev ronin Posted November 4, 2013 Administrator Medscape has lots of free online CME. Recording it is a pain, but it's Cat I.

Moderator ventana Posted November 4, 2013 Moderator www.prescribbersletter.com is a great resource, fairly quick to get - has on line - is a great resource Also, many states are now requiring Pharm CME and this satisfies this....
SHU-CH Posted November 4, 2013 If you precept PA students, you can claim up to 10 hours of Category I annually (and any additional hours can be claimed as category II). To make it happen, the sending PA program will need to complete some paperwork with AAPA. Details can be found here: http://networker.paeaonline.org/2013/10/02/precepting-perfected/
PACProvider Posted November 17, 2013 American College of Physicians website has free and paid CME. There are two easy cme courses for free. One on depression care for 6 AMA Category 1 credits; the other on Safe Opioid Prescribing for 6 AMA Category 1 credits. If you want to pay money, they have many choices in varying amount of CME. They have a board prep course called Medical Knowledge Self Assessment Program which can be done on books or online. You can earn CME as you go. Eleven subject areas earn a total of 178 AMA Category 1 credits. Around $500. I haven't purchased any paid CME from ACP yet so I cannot comment on the quality of the course. Good luck.
Guest Paula Posted November 17, 2013 When the new 10 year cycle kicks in for all of us and the 2 year PI requirements we won't be able to do all of our CME in a crunch/cram venue.
