tristan03
I am naive when it comes to details of tail coverage. Do I need tail coverage after leaving my current position if nothing was ever billed under me and I never signed off on any charts? Any input is appreciated. rcdavis
Were you a student only? Did you practice as a PA, or we're you merely a scribe, or a data gatherer? Did you perform any procedures ( suturing, I&D, lp,)? Did you actually perform any physical exams in which a missed condition s houd have been noted? Is you name on any chart? If you said, did nothing, performed nothing involving direct patient care, if you actually never touched a patient, then you do not need a tail any more than a medical office assistant does. If, however, on discovery, the fact of your presence and partaking in patient care can be discerned, then you better have a tail. And a very good reason why your name does not appear on the chart.
