marilynpac Posted December 28, 2010 Call your state pa assoc and ask them if they have a list of PAs who shadow....if they don't then look at hosp/clinics that hire PAs and ask administration if any of those PAs are willing.
jmj11 Posted December 28, 2010 Where do you start? I know of noone that I can shadow. You can start here tool Where are you looking to shadow and what kind of PA? I've had three from this forum shadow me so far.
cindylin717 Posted January 5, 2011 I am having a difficult time finding a thread of shadowing opportunities in Houston. Would you know any PAs in Houston that would be willing to have students to shadow? I'm interested in surgery
desdes Posted January 5, 2011 I am also looking for a PA to shadow I have called a couple and no response. I am in Alaska
Simplicity Posted February 6, 2011 Where do you start? I know of noone that I can shadow. Close your eyes and wish upon a star... OR "Like a good neighbor, state farm is there...with a PA to shadow!"
Administrator rev ronin Posted February 6, 2011 Administrator 1) ask your physician, 2) ask your boss (assuming you work in the medical field somehow)--in my case, that was the EMS medical director of the county where I was a volunteer EMT-B. Backup plans included 3) ask your relatives (I have a cousin that's a PA), and 4) ask old people you know whose eyes light up when you tell them you want to be a PA when you grow up. A bit less direct, but if they love their PA, odds are their PA will look favorable when you call and tell them their patient recommended them to you.
