I wonder why they haven't updated how far they are into the waitlist on their website. They said they update it every Monday :/

I noticed this too :/

Because they aren't done interviewing. Until they finish I doubt they will start the waitlist

People have already been put on the wait liat though, and people are also already declining their position on the wait list.

That is what they told me. That it would go into the spring and that is when final decisions would be made. Granted, they lost my application at the beginning, so I am trying to get contact information to someone higher up because I sent my app to them completed in Aug and it was not discovered until I called the end of November. Had i not called, it would have never been known that they didnt pull my app over. I am getting beyond frustrated with it because I really feel like I didnt have a fair shot at all!! The ladies in the office tell me the same thing every time I call, which is "oh it's in line for review." Well it would have already been reviewed if they had not lost it. I feel like i dont even have a fair shot anymore, and I feel like my app was pretty strong. So FRUSTRATING! I have been accepted at Texas Tech, but Galveston was on of my top choices, so it's really really really irritating!

Rejection emails sent out today.

Did you interview? Just curious if they're sending all rejections today or just to those who interviewed. I haven't received an invitation but haven't gotten a rejection either...

@MrsJ2011: I am in the same boat and have already had trouble with my application and them. I called today and the lady (who was VERY rude) told me that they havent decided if they are sending out more invites to interviews or not. She said that she couldnt tell me when that decision would be made and if they would or would not be having more interviews. It's so unorganized and everytime I call, they are rude to me. I just explained to the lady that I was just curious since they had lost my application that I completed in August and they didnt find it until the end of November.

So apparently, they are sending rejections to those that interviewed and those that haven't heard anything are still in limbo...absolutely crazy!

This has been their policy since the early days, and I agree, it makes sense.  There were two interview cycles on campus and no one was advised as to their status until both groups had been interviewed.  I interviewed in the first group (January as I recall) and didn't receive my acceptance notification until late March or April maybe?  The only difference is that our class sizes were 25, not 90.

I'm acutely aware of the rudeness you've encountered. And while I understand that the administrative staffers are not the professors, it reflects poorly on the program as a whole. They lost your completed and paid application. They are curt and unhelpful on the phone. Not a welcoming first impression.

You may want to reconsider this school as your top choice, given your experiences thus far. Especially considering you have received admission elsewhere. :)

Any positive or negative news from those that interviewed and were not waitlisted? I noticed that they are on 4 on the wait list. It seems like they are slowly moving along.

I have yet to hear anything myself.

I've received a couple of your application is "under consideration" emails. Last one I received was in November. I called them today for an update, and was told that they sent out a group of emails about 1 week ago, and I may not have received my email due to a system malfunction. She said she'd send out my email again today, but could not elaborate on the content. My guess is it's a rejection letter, but was wondering if anyone else who hasn't interviewed received an email from the school recently?

I called today and the lady told me the same thing. They have been unprofessional with me since the beginning, so I am not surprised that I didnt receive an email when I was supposed to....I am going to wait through the day and see if I get an email then call back tomorrow and ask them what the email says if i dont get it. I have been very unpleased and feel as though I was done wrong from the start. They didnt even pull my app over until November when they received it in Aug. She said it was  "Misplaced!" so I am highly frustrated!

Does anyone know if UTMB is done interviewing?

I think there was another interview later this month. I'm not sure if there are anymore after that.

Anyone else who's been accepted received any other information about school and what we need to do in the meantime?  I've just been told to send in updated transcripts.

Does anyone know if there has been a Facebook page set up for the new summer 2014 class? Just wanted to see how many people might be interested in roommate situations, getting to know Galveston, etc prior to classes starting.

Hi PAs as Pre-PAs: I am fortunate enough to say that I have a choice of PA programs to choose from- Emory and Duke. I have visited both schools during the interview, and both are impressive. I’ll be moving with my husband, who will need to find a job wherever we end up, and it seems like Atlanta may have more opportunities for jobs in his field (landscape architecture). I’m thrilled but a bit stumped as to which to choose. I’d sincerely appreciate some insight from those that are familiar with the programs. What would be on your pro and con list? Thank you!

Hello future classmates!  Just thought I’d get this going so we can get familiar and bounce ideas off each other.

Hi everyone, I wanted to start this thread early so we can share our experience! Goodluck!

So my graduation date is slowly approaching, and I have been looking into becoming a PA for the past year or so and I have decided I want to go for it. My question is not about classes or GPA but just about the timeline in general about how and when to apply.
I am graduating Fall 2018, so my main question is, should I wait to apply until I have actually physically graduated and apply for the 2019 cycle? Or can I begin applying next year in 2018 since I only have one semester left? I remember in high school, we can start applying for universities during our last year of high school, so I am wondering if it works the same way for this? I have searched everywhere, and all I get is general deadlines, nothing as specific as my question.
      ANYTHING HELPS! Thanks!

      Hi all,
I'm currently in the interview process, and I'm somewhat confused about how to manage acceptances (should they come...). My first interview is in a week, the next one is in 2 weeks, and a top choice program, which I haven't heard back from yet, doesn't start interviews until late-October. (Still waiting to hear from a few more programs, too.)
So, do prospective PA students in this position just make deposits as necessary to hold places in programs they're interested in as acceptances come in, if they're still waiting to hear back from their first or second choices? Is it really disrespectful to accept an offer from a program, make the deposit, and then change your mind, or is this just an expected part of the process? If I'm offered an October interview for that top choice program, I could theoretically end up paying deposits to 3 separate programs, which seems absurd... Granted, the chances I'd actually get 3 acceptances are probably low, but even 2 would be tricky.
      What am I missing?
      Thank you :)
