Got an email for an interview today!! It will be on their first interview date which is 9/11/13. Has anyone else heard anything? Anybody have any tips that has been through the interview process at TUN before? This is my first interview, I am both excited and nervous.

Congrats!

Just be yourself. It sounds weird or that there should be more to it, but your interviewers just want to know who you are.

Don't focus on showing your accomplishments to the adcom or restating whats on your CASPA application. They already have that and they'll have it with them during the interview. Answer the questions consciously and honestly and don't forget to smile.

On another note, the Sunset Station Casino has good rates on rooms and is about 5 min from the campus if you're coming from out of the area.

Good luck!

Hey congratulation. i also submitted my application yesterday. It has been verified and available online to TUN. TUN is the only university i am applying for. Can anyone tell me the interview scheduling procedure. i mean i understand some of you have received an interview date in Sep 2013. How do you know that is the first interview date? and do they let you pick a date for interview or they just tell you one firm date. i am too concern about it because i have to travel overseas to attend my only bro wedding in late Aug. I dont wana miss this oppurtunity. wana have an idea so i can make my plans.

Thanks,

They don't have any interviews in August. They have you call to setup your interview. When I called yesterday they said the first interview date for this first round is 9-11-13. They did say you could pick from a couple other dates after that, but I wanted to be in on the first day. Have they asked you to complete their supplemental application yet?

not yet. i just submitted my application to caspa yesterday, and today i got the email from caspa that my application is verified and available to TUN online. they will mail it next week on July 5th. So TUN ask you to fill the supplementary application B4 interview? how is it different from CASPA? when did you submit your application to CASPA and when did TUN ask you to submit supplemental application? Thanks for the information about the interview. Good luck to all of you.

Yes if they like your application then they will have you do the supplemental and then they review that and then get invited for an interview. It's not much different just some basic information and you have to pay a fee. I submitted my caspa application the same day it came out and it was verified in early May and mailed in early June when they did their first mailings. TUN had me do there supplemental one day after my application was mailed and I got the interview invite yesterday.

I' really happy for all of you and wish you the best luck!!! I'm seriously considering becoming a PA and if you have some time I would appreciate some help, please. I live in Las Vegas by the way. Sorry, it's gonna be long.

I was studying Medicine in Cuba before I moved to the US, and I completed 4 of the 6 years required to become a physician in Cuba. I also worked in a Hospital as a Medical assistant for about 3 years. When I moved here, none of my courses could be transferred; so, since I had to start all over again, I decided to get an Associate's Degree instead. At this point, I already finished all my prerequisites for Sonography (the degree I had decided to go for); however I feel that I should continue and become a PA. It is what I always wanted to do, and even though some might think I wasted all this time doing other prerequisites, I look at it in a good way, because it really helped me to learn a lot, and besides, I wasn't ready for such a difficult career right after moving here.

Now, what I need some help with is the following:

- Even though I would love to be a PA, I have a family already, and graduating in 2 years with the Associate Degree in Sonography seems like a practical idea. I will be done relatively fast and have a decent salary. However, if I decide to go for the PA, I would have to practically start all over again, and would be getting a degree in Biology according to my counselor. Is the degree in Biology a good choice? If by any reason I can't get into a PA program, what I could do with a Biology Degree?

- I know I need get experience and I'm undecided about some programs. I was looking into EMT and CNA programs, they are both pretty short, but I feel that with CNA I would have more chances to get a job in this recession. Does it matter in what I get the experience in, as long as I work directly with patients? My counselor said Phlebotomy wouldn't work (I don't understand why).

I was thinking to get the certification to gain the experience (hopefully I will find a job) and take some classes this fall towards the Biology Degree and see how that goes. However; I would really appreciate any advice that could help me decide the right path to follow.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU THAT ARE HAVING INTERVIEWS!! AND GOOD LUCK!!!!

Thanks a lot:)

Good luck at your interviews guys! Out of all the schools I interviewed at, I had the most memorable experience here. I fell in love with the campus and staff right away.

Also, during my interviews, it didn't matter whether you were part of the first or last group to interview. They want to see all their options, not just accept people right away. For example, I was in the second to last interview group, and was accepted a month later. Keep in mind, that the people who interviewed in November, had to wait until all the groups were done interviewing to find out if they made it. For each group, (i.e. August-October and November-February) they accept a specific number (I think, half the class). So, don't worry if you haven't been invited to an interview yet!

Hi everyone! Good luck to all! I received my interview invitation June 27th and sent in my secondary application June 14th. I am interviewing on October 2nd. Did anyone else schedule their interview for that day? Thank you for all the advice about the interview. I have heard such wonderful things about Nevada: Touro and everyone I come in contact with is really helpful and sincere and am extremely excited to interview there.

Congrats on getting your interview! I will be joining you on the same day :) From what I have heard, the interview process here is pretty laid back. They only want to get to know you a little better, so it is pretty much a 2 on 1 conversation that revolves around your experience and why you want to become a PA.

Congrats to everyone who will be interviewing. I am scheduled for October 16th! Let me know if anyone one else will be interviewing that same day? I interviewed here last year. It was a good experience. Two PA's/Staff interview and ask you questions about your CASPA application and about yourself. Good Luck to everyone!
