  1. Hi everyone, I am hoping that someone will be able to point me in the direction of some hospitals or private practices that have preceptors who are willing to take PA students in the scottsdale, mesa, Glendale, chandler, Tempe, Gilbert, Phoenix area of Arizona. I am currently a first year PA student at Hofstra university in New York and we are getting ready for rotations this year. For my program, we are allowed to do two rotations out of state so I hoping to go to Arizona. However, we are responsible for finding the preceptor and giving the information to Hofstra. I will be staying in Scottsdale but I am willing to drive!! Any information will be helpful as I am not really sure where to begin looking or who to contact. Thank you SO much in advance!!! Hunter

  4. Hey there, sorry if this is something that has been overdone, but I've canvased the internet looking for what a day in the life of the military PA looks like and I can't find anything. I was wondering if I could get a synopsis of what it would be like for someone after they graduate from a PA program to join and work in the military, whatever branch that may be. Working hours? Location? Where do you live? What are your responsibilities outside of seeing patients? Pay? Benefits? Pros? Cons? Thanks
  5. I'm good at managing my time, but everyone of us could be better. I have a handful of months to kill before PA school so I thought why not read something about time management. Anyone have recommendations?
  6. Hello I need to know what schools allow you to do your clinicals in your home state instead of their usual places. I live in Minnesota and am a single dad. I would really prefer not to move because of my son and needing help from family. I really want to get into Augsburg but I need to prepare for other out of state options in case that doesn't work. I'm willing to travel knowing that I could do one year of didactic and move back to MN for clinicals. Two years away just feels like too much. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Brian
  7. I've done some searching on the forum, but I couldn't quite find what I was looking for. I'm interested in hearing from PAs or others who may know how USC PA students do in clinical rotations. I'm from the Midwest and I often hear of physicians or PAs who notice a significant difference in students from different programs, or even how well prepared PA students are in comparison to med students. Thank you.
  8. Hey all you PAs in Utah! I am currently in my clinical year at Eastern Virginia Medical School and will be in Utah from Dec. 12-Jan. 15. I am looking for a clinical site durring that time. I have a week scheduled off for the holidays, so I should be able to work with any of your holiday plans. I am a student in good standing and have the necessary immunizations and national certifications to work in the majority, if not all, hospitals or clinics. My background is in Respiratory Therapy. I will be in northern Utah between SLC and Ogden, so any place in that area will be great. Please respond to this thread or email me at larsenjk@evms.edu Thanks alot, Kenny
