  1. Greetings from Hershey, PA and to all those who have gotten a jump start on the CASPA cycle for 2018-2019. As the Director of Admissions for the program, I'll be on this thread as much as possible to help answer any questions about the 18-19 cycle or share program updates, as I'm sure some of our alum and current students will also join when they are able. May is a busy time of year in the program as the 2nd year students graduate, our rising students begin clinical rotations and our incoming class begins...Yes, this all happens in a one week time span in May. We are very proud of our soon-to-be-graduates, excited for the students beginning their clinical rotations, and look forward to welcoming the new students at orientation. I will do everything I can to provide a detailed and clear understanding of our application process by way of this thread, online information sessions, and email correspondence. Good luck with your CASPA and Penn State secondary applications. Caryn Stopper Director of Admissions
  2. Greetings from Hershey, PA and thank you to all the applicants who already have their CASPA applications underway for our May 2018 start! I wanted to get the 2017-2018 cycle up and running for the program. As the Director of Admissions, I will be on here regularly enough, along with alumni and current students, to help field any questions and keep you informed about the admissions cycle at Penn State College of Medicine. We enroll 30 students each May into our 24-month master's program. The program is housed at the College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. We do not offer our program at any other campus or via an online option. Registration will be open online shortly for two upcoming Online Information Sessions at http://med.psu.edu/physician-assistant/recruitment-events - Learn about our program from any location, online and easy! I hope you will join me on one of these dates. I look forward to another exciting admissions cycle! Happy Applying! Caryn Stopper, M.Ed. Director of Admissions Penn State PA Program

  4. I didn't see one, so I figured I'd start the thread for 2015-2016 applicants. Good luck, all.
  5. Hey everyone, I was an idiot and focused on the essay portion of the supplemental and didn't bother to look at the grade entry until now. I've already sent out an e-mail, but I know they take a while to e-mail back, so I was hoping someone else here has been in the same situation and can help me out. Essentially, I went to a quarter system school, where almost all classes were 4 units/quarter. Penn requires that prerequisites be satisfied with 5-6 quarter units, and since I have an abundance of classes that fit their prereqs I figured I'd be fine listing two classes to fit that number. Come to find out that they only give me space to list one class. Does anyone know of the specific way that they want us to handle quarter system classes?
  6. Did not see this school on the list for pennsylvania. Probably because it is a new school about to start its second year. And I can proudly say that I will be matriculating in May 2015. For those of you who aren't familiar, Hershey Medical Center is a state of the art Magnet hospital in Hershey, PA. The college of medicine there is top knotch, and it has attained provisional accredidation for their PA program. I have no doubt that they will be upgraded to full accrediation. If you are interested, I am starting a blog about my experiences at Penn State. It is intended for interested pre-PA students. When I was first thinking about becoming a PA, I was helped by a fellow blogger, so I want to give back. Check it out: PAjourney.com
