  1. Hello everyone! Just wanted to start a forum for the current application cycle! Good luck to everyone! Submitted my CASPA on 5/17/19!
  2. It's almost that time to start submitting applications for the upcoming cycle. I interviewed last year at Pacific (loved the school and location), and have been on their waitlist since last November. I will be applying again soon. Is there anyone here looking at applying a second time who interviewed at Pacific last year?
  3. Hi, I'm just wondering how many applicants from or with ties to Hawai'i are applying this cycle. Also, I know they offer interviews to the top 5 Hawai'i applicants, but do they let them know they are one of those 5 before their interview?
  4. Hi All! I saw there was a small forum a couple months ago but I wanted to start one now for all of us that applied to Pacific U for 2014. I received an e-mail that everything is received/verified/etc and my application was sent off to admissions comittee, that was just last week (I was a bit on the late side :)) - I know many of you submitted several months ago and maybe have received interview dates? Anyway, I am excited to meet other applicants and support each other during this crazy time :) ~Sarah
  5. Aloha, I wanted to reach out to those starting Pacific's PA Program in June 2015. Congratulations! I'm sure you've come a long way to reach this goal and in just a few months we will all be meeting each other soon. I am very excited and I'm sure you have as many questions as I do in regards to financial aid, housing, etc. A facebook page was created so we can connect before our semester starts. You can search for it under: Class of 2017 - Pacific University School of Physician Assistant Studies I look forward to meeting you all!
  6. I am having a really hard time deciding between these two schools. I know that they are both reputable programs but is one "better" than the other? I don't know where I would want to live after school. Are laws in Oregon or CA more PA-friendly? What I do know: Pacific: -27 months, starts in May -Not affiliated with a med school (good or bad?) -Module Based Learning by organ systems -Has a rural track, many rural rotation sites (more "hands on" experience?) -Elective rotation must be in Pediatrics, Women's Health, Geriatrics, or Family Medicine -Rotations require a lot of traveling, even to different states (diverse but costly/stressful to move constantly) LLU: -24 months, starts in Sept -Affiliated with a good med school -More traditional learning set-up (not so much by organ systems) -closer to home (2 hours) -get choice of one elective rotation in any specialty -20K more tuition but could save some money by doing a few rotations near home I am all ears and open to hearing any and all input whether it be good, bad, or ugly. This is definitely one of the biggest decisions I've had to make and I really appreciate being able to get feedback from people on this forum. Thank you!
  7. Hello all. I am filling out a supplemental application for Pacific University today and it asks if you are applying to other programs and wants you to list them. Does anyone know what they are looking for when they ask this?
