  1. Hey everyone I just have a question about health care experience and which is best when applying to PA school. I go to Miami Dade College here in south florida, any PA's from my school that graduated will help. I am in my 2nd year of earning my bachelors in Health science with an option of physician assistant studies. I have two options which I feel I like and they Phlebotomist, and caregiver. Now I am not sure if caregiver is accepted for PA schools but I found it on the "inside pa training" website. I like caregiver because my family actually owns a nursing home and it would be great if I can get hours right at my house but I am not sure if that is also accepted for PA schools (getting hours at a family owned business I mean). I would have too check with them first but if they do agree that it is fine would being a caregiver be the best option for me? I was considering EMT but I do think the job is a little too managing for me at the moment. I also found CNA which is also something I could do in a nursing home.
  2. Hey guys, I'm curious as far as what rotation sites MDC is currently offering their PA students. I am aware that Jackon's Ryder Trauma Center and the county Medical Examiner's office are currently in use....but which other ones are there? Thanks!
  3. hello, Could you please tell me how is your typical schedule during the PA program at MDC? I'm a single mom with two kids (8 and 11), working part time as an Acupuncturist at Integrative Medical Center, full time student (taking all the pre-requirements) . For that reason, I need to know in advance how is the schedule. I already asked and they told me is M - F, 7 to 7, I wonder if probably it is 4 or 5 hours a day and then you have to study the rest of the day (which I can do it at home) and only 1 or 2 days a week all day classes and clinics. That will make a huge difference :) , so please based on your experience I will really appreciate your detail information. Thank you Paola.
  4. Hello, I am brand new here and wanting to find out as much information as I can on the Miami Dade PA program. I am wondering how competitive it is, stats, etc. Any infomation would be greatly appreciated.
