  1. Hey everyone - thought I would make a group for those who have been accepted to start in January of 2018!
  2. Hi everyone, I am a pre-PA school who recently had an interview at MCPHS Boston PA Program. When I visited there for my interview, they said the result will come out in 2 to 3 weeks, but they did not specify how they would let us know. Does anybody know if they email us or call us whether we got rejected or accepted? Also, should I contact the school if I do not hear back after 3 weeks? Thanks!
  3. I thought I would start a thread for the 2016-2017 cycle. Who else is applying? I talked with admissions a few weeks back and they said they already have over 100 applications....crazy! Good luck everyone!
  4. Hi everyone, I am new to the forums. I am a PA with 1 year of experience. I just got an offer in a family practice in the North Texas area. After talking with the providers there, the supervising doctor seems to be very patient with the PAs and willing to teach. I feel this is a good place to grow. I was wondering if this is a fair offer. I feel the pay is a little low and benefits seem a little on the low side too. Salary: 90k annually, work 8-5 and 4 hours on a weekend every month. Assuming 8 hour work days and 4 every month, $42.29/hr. Bonus: Very vague bonus. At discretion. Call sch
  5. Hey everyone, I know its early still, but I'd like to hear from others that were accepted to start at MCPHS in January of 2016! I was accepted, but applied to both the 2015 and 2016 start dates, so acceptances for those who applied to just 2016 will come a little later. Cant wait to meet everyone, and good luck!
  6. Hello, I'm starting down the path to become a P.A. and have a few questions I cannot find answers for here. 1) If one has a strong interest in pursuing EM, would it be advisable to delay starting PA school to earn an EMT-P over a simple EMT-B or can the skills learned in paramedic training be easily gained through a residency or on-the-job? I am an EMT-B and could become a paramedic in 1.5 years or else apply 1.5 years sooner. I want to be prepared to practice at the highest level in EM one day in the far future so the delay would be worth it if necessary. 2) Does PA School
  7. Hi everyone! I was looking every where and was not able to find a forum for Manchester campus. So i decided to start one here. It is for anyone who applied, thinking to apply, interviewed and accepted. Please share your interview experiences, questions anything.
  8. I graduated with a degree in Biology in May 2012, and applied to PA school in September. I applied to 9 schools, interviewed at Lock Haven University, but I was not offered admission anywhere. At the time I applied I only had 233 patient care hours, with a science GPA of 3.1, and a QPA of 3.3. Since I applied I have increased my patient care hours to ~900. I worked as a health care aide and currently I work as a clinical allergy specialist. I do allergy testing, and administer allergy injections. I feel that to increase my chances of getting into a program I need to increas
  9. I have been offered a full time job with 100% paid PA program tuition by my former employer, a large healthcare system where I worked for 17 years. Our family relocated 4 years ago to a different state. If I were to take this wonderful opportunity, I would need to drive 3 hours one way on Sunday evenings, stay for the week, and drive 3 hours home on Friday evenings. We have children ages 8 and 10, and it would be a difficult thing as a family to decide if they should come with me, stay here with their dad, and of course, the ultimate question, is it really worth the sacrifice to break the fami
  10. So I am scheduled to complete the UNMC Master's DLPA program 10/11. I am logging my CME for 6/11 completion. I was wondering if I could essentially log 50 category II CME based on hour per hour basis? I have already spent over 50 hours on the degree. Anyone who has done the UNMC DLPA Master's program care to comment?
