  1. Hello! I’m new and please correct me if I’ve posted in the wrong forum. Anyways, I’m currently working on my undergraduate in Jacksonville, FL and I currently work at St. Vincent’s. I am going to apply for PA School in the future and I was wondering if anyone had any pointers on schools here in Florida? In Jacksonville we only have Nova Southeastern for a PA school—while we have UF and only a few other PA Schools in Florida in general. Personally, I’d like to go to Nova because St. Vincent’s can dish out money for school and I’ll have an easier time finding a job there after school since I’m established. However, I’m worried that going to Nova may not make me a great candidate for a CC or Surgical Residency compared to me going to a school like UF.
  2. I practice in NJ. I am leaving my current position to work full time at the local hospital. A couple of the docs have expressed an interest in having me still take call with them. It would involve taking phone calls from both in patients and out patients for the group. Since we all will still work at the same hospital I will have privileges there. My question is what do I do about insurance coverage in this setting. My new job will only be inpatient work at the hospital. How does working under a supervising doc work. Do I have to let anyone know at the state level? Any idea who I might contact to check. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
