  3. I didn't see anything about this anywhere else in the forum, so I figured I'd throw it out there. At our last EOR one of our professors made an announcement that employers are looking at PANCE scores as a component of an application when hiring new grads. I'd never heard this before, and I was wondering if anyone has come across this anywhere.

  5. For sale I have a like new copy of The Final Step from Physician Assistant Exam Review. This book is written by Brian Wallace (creator of the Physician Assistant Exam Review Podcast) and includes over 1,200 short review questions. In addition to the paperback text, I also will supply the PDF version of the book as well as the audiobook (which is excellent for quizzing yourself during car rides). I just recently passed my PANCE and The Final Step was a big part of my study regimen. It really helps with buzzowords and key terms that I felt not only helped me do well, but also helped me to answer questions with efficiency during the exam. Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing and we can coordinate something. Thanks! http://www.physicianassistantexamreview.com/thefinalstep/ Jordan

  7. I have several books I used in the pre-PA track as wel as during PA school. I need to get rid of these books, and I am open to all reasonable offers. For example, I have bates physical diagnosis, behavioral science in medicine, rapid interpretation of ekgs, human anatomy books, pathophysiology They are in great condition - I really need to free up space and get rid of them. Please post here or message me Thanks
  8. For sale: Littmann Cardiology III Stethoscope in black, comes in the original box and packaging. I bought it new and used it for one year during my clinical rotations. It works perfectly and comes with two extra sets of unopened eartips. I was given the exact same one in a different color as a graduation gift and that is why I am selling (at a much cheaper price). If interested, email wparrish86@gmail.com
  9. No monospot test either at one of the FP/UC places I work at (per MD's preference). I am just wondering I should be pushing to get the rapid strep test (and monospot) at the clinic, cause I find myself Rx'ing more antibiotics for pharyngitis. I know that rheumatic fever is pretty rare in the US, but I don't know know if it's because we are over-Rxing antibiotics or another reason. What does this mean in terms of liability? Does this mean I can rely on the CENTOR criteria without any need for any sort of assay?
  10. Looking for some "second-hand" PANCE review books for sale... Anybody??? Thanks.
  11. Hello Colleagues: I have my CME Resources 3 day PANRE review course binder for sale. I am grateful to CME Resources for this course because I have now passed two PANRE exams using their materials. The cost is $300 plus shipping and handling. This is a very good deal considering the course alone was $425 plus 4 nights at Embassy Suites and transportation costs. I had right at $1000 wrapped up in review costs. Just let me know if you are intersted. Thank you, Maria Carson PA-C
  12. I'd like to apply to LLU's PA program but there are a few things I'm missing however here are my stats I have to work with: -I recently graduated in June from CSU San Bernardino -I have a 3.1 Overall GPA -I have a 2.9 Science GPA which I will be taking 2 Behavioral science (Psych) courses and 1 Nutrition to raise my GPA -I was born and raised SDA -I have 2,838 community service volunteer hours (2001-2011) -My pre-req GPA has nothing lower than a B -Within those hours, I have shadowed an Orthopedic PA for 40 hrs However, I do not have any sufficient HCE. I am starting the Phlebotomy program in which I would like to work as a life insurance Phlebotomists (draw blood, check vitals, run urinalysis tests, etc...). Also, I have recently begun volunteering as a Clinical Care Extender for Riverside Community Hospital which is "hands on" experience however, I know 2000 is the minimum to even be looked upon. Is there anything I can do to strengthen my chances?
