  1. Hello everyone, For those that have already submitted their application in the past few weeks, how long did it take for your application to be verified? I'm probably going to submit my application tomorrow. Thanks!
  2. Evening folks, Let me preface this by saying I wasn't a strong student in my original (philosophy) undergrad, but I've been digging out of that hole for 7 years since and my application is strong outside of my overall GPA. And this is my first application cycle and experience with CASPA. Issue: I got my verification notification today and cracked open my application pdfs to check them: My total earned (graded) credits is off, as are my quality points. 9.5 earned credits and 12.4 quality points, to be exact. The only thing I can figure is that they double-entered some of my less desirable courses. But the big issue here is that the difference is just enough to pop my overall GPA under a 3.0, which is the cutoff for every program I've applied to. It's verified. So it's been sent to my programs already? I sent them my excel work and unofficial transcripts for reference; I attached the excel sheet with my calculations in case anybody is curious - or wants to check my math. Questions: Can/will CASPA fix this? (Is the spreadsheet I provided enough to be convincing?) Should I be notifying my programs on my own that I'm currently disputing my GPA with CASPA? (I'm worried they may decide to toss my application when they see a sub-3.0 overall gpa) Thanks in advance, and sorry if this is long-winded or convoluted. I may or not be panicking a bit currently (CASPA was "in a meeting" when I tried to call them at 16:00) Credit Hours shareable.xlsx
  3. Hi, all! I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how long it took CASPA to verify their transcripts? I sent mine in about a week and a half ago and they now both say "arrived" on my application but I am confused on to how long it takes for them to be verified. I have submitted my applications to a few schools, so will those not go through until my actual transcripts are verified? Or does the application as a whole now get verified? Thanks so much!
  4. Hey everyone! I recently submitted an application to CASPA. My transcript has already been verified and now I'm just waiting for the application to change from completed to verified. I was wondering if anyone knew how long the verification timeframe has been for the month of August?
  5. Hello ! I had a question concerning the degree verification on the CASPA application. I am graduating with my bachelors next week and will be walking in the ceremony. The semester has ended and I am for sure getting my degree. However, my university states that it can take up to 4-6 weeks in order for the degree to be awarded on official transcripts. I have talked to CASPA and they said that they cannot verify that the degree has been awarded if it isn't on the transcript. Should I submit my application fairly early and have my degree still be in progress on my application? Or do I wait until Late June/Early July, just for my degree be awarded on my application? Most of the programs I am applying to just state that they want you to have a bachelors degree prior to matriculation but I know it looks better to have it awarded already when applying. What do you all think? What would be the best route to go? Thank you in advance !!
  6. Hello, I have submitted 4 school applications for verification by CASPA but I am waiting to submit the other schools that I am applying to until I am sure that my GPA calculations by CASPA are competitive for the schools requirements. Once CASPA has verified the application, will all others be immediately verified or will I have to wait another few weeks once I have submitted/completed my last few school's applications? Thank you!
  7. Hi, I am an undergraduate senior at UCLA and plan on applying to PA school in the near future. I would love to shadow a PA in Westwood, Beverly Hills, San Fernando Valley or surrounding areas! Please let me know if you know of any opportunities! Thank you! -Sarah H.
  8. Hello All I recently applied to four PA schools this October (Drexel, Philadephia College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, and Chatham university). I recieved letters from two schools notifying me that I did not get accepted. My cumilative GPA is 3.44 and my science GPA is 3.27. I currently have over 1000 hours of HCE in research, but during my time of application I had a little over 500. Being that I haven't heard from my other schools I'm assuming I probably will not get accepted, but im still trying to remain optimistic. I am currently finishing up my pre-reqs and plan to be done at the end of the summer. I'm just wondering how most schools look at students who have reapplied to the PA program? Should I try to raise my science GPA to increase my chances? I plan to apply earlier and to more schools this time to increase my chances of getting in...I am just trying to take all the necessary steps to make sure I get in this time. Please Help!!
