Hello everyone, After a stressful interview cycle, I am fortunate enough to be accepted to both MEDEX Seattle and Rush Chicago. I'm trying to decide which program to attend. I live in Seattle, my parents/friends can be my support system. In my clinical year, I can move back home to save on rent money when I move to my rotation sites. I love traveling and meeting new people. Attending PA program in Chicago will be such an adventure. Also, Rush's class size is significantly smaller MEDEX's (30 vs 50). My background is in EM and I'm planning to practice in EM after graduation. Due to th

Rush University Emergency Medicine APP Compensation?
PA-StoPA-C posted a topic in Emergency Medicine
Does anyone work for or know of someone that works for Rush University Medical Center in Chicago? I am wondering what their emergency medicine advanced practice provider compensation model is like considering they are one of the only hospital institutions that don't use the EM staffing companies (TeamHealth, Envision, VEP, Vituity, etc.). How have you found their rates/benefits to compare to the staffing companies if you've worked for them previously?-

Looking for roommates? Need information on Chicago? When are you looking at moving out if you're coming from elsewhere? Where are you coming from? What would make you f

If there are any UNE or Rush grads out there on the forum, I'm interested in your opinion of your respective program. Did you have a positive experience? Feel well prepared? How were the clinical sites? I was accepted to both and am trying to make a decision between UNE and Rush. My assessment, Rush is a newer program, I think 3 years old? Clinical site locations are likely less well established, but the program has the ability to lean heavily on its giant academic medical center. UNE is 20ish years old, clinical sites are more well established and quality of sites I anticipate wou

Just curious if anyone has taken the online Emergency Neurologic Life Support (ENLS) course and, if so, what they thought of it. http://www.neurocriticalcare.org/education-training/emergency-neurological-life-support-enls
