  1. Hi! My name is Hillary Simeone and I am a second year Physician Assistant student. I am looking for a preceptor and site to fulfill my elective rotation, seventh rotation of eight total, in the Dallas, Texas area. The dates for this rotation would be: September 13th, 2021 - October 20th, 2021. I have an open mind regarding my elective rotation and am open to new learning experiences. I can provide my CV to any prospective preceptor for consideration. Thank you for taking the time to read this! email: hillarysimeone@gmail.com
  2. Hi!! My name is Morgan and I am a PA student halfway through my clerkship year and its time to choose an elective! Does anyone know of any PA, NP, MD, DO willing to precept in either Plastic Surgery or Women's health, L&D. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  4. Hi everyone, I am starting my clinical year in January 2021, but you can never get too ahead of the game! My SO works from home and would like for me to do my rotations in Texas, in the Austin or Dallas area if possible (I know these areas are saturated). I go to a school that will allow me to do as many rotations out of state as I would like. With COVID I realize that this may be impossible, but does anyone have recommendations on contacting preceptors in the state of Texas so that I can ask about doing rotations there? Any information would be helpful, and once again I do acknowledge t
  5. Hello! I am looking for a preceptor in PA (prefer), MD or NY for my mental health rotation. It's the last one I need before I can graduate! Dates are 2/22/2020 to 3/24/20. My program offers $500 and tons of CME hours. Please let me know if you can help or know anyone who can. I can precept with anyone who works in mental health and writes scripts for psych needs. Feel free to DM me or email me at mjones73@bethelu.edu. Thank you!
  6. Hello, second year student currently looking for a rotation or preceptor willing to take a student for a four week rotation in any speciality this December. Thank you!
  7. Looking to do a rotation in the Bay area in 2021 as I would like to move there after graduation to practice. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on clinical rotations anywhere in the San Jose, San Fransisco, or Oakland area. Open to any specialty. Thank you!
  8. Hello All! In search of preceptors!! I am currently a PAS1 student and our school is looking to expand our clinical rotations for next year. I would absolutely love to do my rotations at home in Chicago and our school will allow us to plan away rotations if we make contacts and provide the preceptor (can be PA, NP, DO, or MD). BUT rotations anywhere are very welcome!!! If you, or any of your colleagues would welcome a student rotation in your office please PM me. I would greatly appreciate any and all advice, Thank you!
  9. Hey, I'm just rolling through to see if I can help expand your studying database. Check out this post of various resources you can utilize to help you ACE the EOR exams, and eventually the PANCE!!! I hope this helps... The final link is to my personal study guides, yes I know I do the most! https://randomjournalposts.blogspot.com/2020/02/how-to-study-in-pa-school.html
  10. Greetings everybody It's my first post here. I was desperate enough to Google and somehow ended up here. I am a US IMG, last year, good rank (and once was first of my year on IM rotation), Step 1 done... I am looking for a US clinical experience (a hands on elective rotation). I like IM, with all passion, and almost all subspecialties (and especially ID). I don't mind any subspecialty really, they all excite me haha. I literally tried everything... I always end up with either an observership (which is not really nicely considered for the match), or just getting ignored.
  11. I have recently started a rotation at an ER. I am being asked to do lots of EKGs, transport patients to the floor, put them in gowns, getting blankets, helping them with bed pans and changing diapers. I'm not above these tasks, but I'm just not sure if this is the norm. I'm being assigned way more of these duties than getting to see patients or perform procedures. Has anyone else had a similar experience in an ER? TIA
  12. Hello! I need some help looking for a preceptor in the Long Island, NY area. Any field works! If anyone has any tips on how to find a possible preceptor, that would be great too! Thank you in advance!
  13. What is the process of creating a clinical site or at least an affiliation with a doctor or organization for one student to do a rotation at? I have been desperately trying to get clinical rotations in CA, my home, while I am currently out of state. I have situational depression and I know that being able to do rotations back at home would help immensely with my focus, happiness, and health, but my school won't budge in helping me. Their reasoning was that it's too much work for them to make affiliations with new sites. I have found doctors willing to take me in for rotations though, so the on
  14. My name is Alexandra I am a 1st year PA student in my second semester at Barry University in Florida. It has always been an aspiration of mine to move to Hawaii and build a life there. I was hoping to get some advice on who to contact for available rotations for PA students. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  15. Hi, So here's the story. I am beginning my first rotation and it is in the ED (no previous ED or UC experience). My preceptors are all very nice and willing to help, but I can't help but feeling like I am neither measuring up nor reflecting my program well. I wanted to get some feedback to gauge if this is a normal experience, as there are no other PA students at my site to compare notes with. I received an hour training on the EHR and beginning the second day was expected to see a few patients on my own and present them to my preceptor with assessment and plan. This wouldn't be a p
  16. Dear East Bay PAs, I begin PA school in January of 2018 and beginning in March our program is placing us into what they call Longitudinal Clinical Experience (LCE), where we spend time in a primary care, family practice or internal medicine practice for 4-5 hours one day a week for the remainder of the didactic year (through December 2018) in order to get mentorship and training in patient care. I have been in research and healthcare for a long time now (7+ years), and have quite a bit of prior clinic experience and patient exposure across the UCSF network both in San Francisco and Oakla
  17. Hi, I am a physician assistant student in Boston, Massachusetts. I will be starting my clinical rotations this coming May and am searching for clinical rotations in the Kansas City area. I am hoping to move to KC after graduation so I would love to do a rotation around that area. Does anyone know any PAs/MDs in the Kansas City area that are willing to precept students for any of their rotations? Or any tips on how to set up an out of state rotation? Thanks!
  18. Hey there, I wanted to start a thread where students could chime in to share their experiences while on rotation. I will post one of mine below from my blog PAjourney.com. Feel free to add some of your own experiences in the comments section. Thanks! This is my experience on my Pediatrics rotation: PAJourney.com - Clinical Rotation 1: Pediatrics
  19. Hi Everyone, I'm a PA student at Emory School of Medicine looking for an ObGyn Rotation in the Baltimore area. Does anyone know of any preceptors who would be willing to take a student for 5 weeks? Thanks!
  20. Had a question for anyone that is currently in their 2nd year or for anyone in the field of orthopedics. My school is offering a rotation in England with a concentration in orthopedics. I am very interested in going but I am wondering how employers will look at this. As of now, I'm thinking i want to go into ortho after graduation but am worried that an employer will wonder why I did an ortho rotation somewhere other than the US. Would anyone be able to share some insight or their opinion? I would really appreciate it. Thanks
  21. I am looking for preceptors in the Savannah, Ga/Fort Stewart area for my clinical rotations next year. My children and I live in NC right now while my husband is stationed in Savannah at HAAF. We really want to be together again so I am trying to find clinical rotations in the area. ANY help would be great! Looking for: Family Medicine, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Peds, OBGYN, and BH. 22. Many of my classmates tell me the PAEA EOR exams are challenging and the study blue print provided is useless. We are just starting our clinical year and nobody as really figured out how to do do well...people pass, but I want to do well. Any tips on how to prepare for the PAEA EOR exams?
  23. Hi all, I'm looking into starting a surgical first assist business. It will be basically a company of one, myself. I have read if you are a professional who requires any type of license to work in a specific state, then it'll be better to PLLC or Inc your business and not LLC. I live and work in NJ and will not be traveling outside of my state to work. Which type of business is the best for me? PLLC, LLC, Inc? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
  24. I am a student in my didactic year of PA school and I am starting to plan ahead for my clinical year looking for a preceptor in Jackson, MS area or somewhere driving distance from there. If anyone knows of one or a good lead of how to find one, please let me know! Thanks so much! =)
