  1. Hello everyone! I did not see a thread for the applications for Gannon University in Erie, PA? Has anyone applied as a post-baccalaureate student? They do have a 5 year combined bachelor's and master's program but I believe they accept a few students besides their undergraduate class.
  2. New thread for the 2019-2020 cycle! Best of luck to everyone!
  3. Hello All, I am a new grad PA-C in Pennsylvania. Currently waiting to start my job in critical care medicine at a large academic medical center. I have worked in EMS for the last 9 years as an EMT-B with an ALS service. I have submitted an application through my regional EMS council to have my pre-hospital certification changed from EMT-B to PHPE (Pre-Hospital Physician Extender for those not familiar). The final step is to challenge the NREMT-P written exam. Has anyone else challenged this exam? How would you rate the difficulty given your education as a physician assistant? I'm not worried about taking this exam.... should I be?
  4. Hey guys, I figured I would start the thread for this year! I am excited to apply within the next week or so. Fingers crossed we get interviews this cycle!
  5. Greetings from Hershey, PA and thank you to all the applicants who already have their CASPA applications underway for our May 2018 start! I wanted to get the 2017-2018 cycle up and running for the program. As the Director of Admissions, I will be on here regularly enough, along with alumni and current students, to help field any questions and keep you informed about the admissions cycle at Penn State College of Medicine. We enroll 30 students each May into our 24-month master's program. The program is housed at the College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. We do not offer our program at any other campus or via an online option. Registration will be open online shortly for two upcoming Online Information Sessions at http://med.psu.edu/physician-assistant/recruitment-events - Learn about our program from any location, online and easy! I hope you will join me on one of these dates. I look forward to another exciting admissions cycle! Happy Applying! Caryn Stopper, M.Ed. Director of Admissions Penn State PA Program
  6. Didn't see a thread for this year yet so thought I would start one. Has anyone else heard anything? I was invited for an interview in August.
  7. Hello all, I will be graduating from a PA program in western Ohio in about a month. I'm relocating to Pittsburgh after taking boards, and I was hoping for some advice regarding job searching and best places to work. My research has shown that the local job market is pretty saturated and salaries are low, especially through UPMC. I was wondering if anyone familiar with the area has recommendations of outlying towns and hospitals that could provide better job opportunities. I welcome any advice from those of you familiar with the area. Thanks in advance!
  8. Hello everyone, I am starting a new thread here for the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. Please share important updates pertaining to your admission or any questions here. I am wondering how many students have applied here? Good luck to all applicants.
  9. Has anyone else been accepted to the PA program at Mercyhurst? It's a new program so I did not see it listed under the "Physician Assistant Schools" subform.
