  1. Greetings from Hershey, PA and to all those who have gotten a jump start on the CASPA cycle for 2018-2019. As the Director of Admissions for the program, I'll be on this thread as much as possible to help answer any questions about the 18-19 cycle or share program updates, as I'm sure some of our alum and current students will also join when they are able. May is a busy time of year in the program as the 2nd year students graduate, our rising students begin clinical rotations and our incoming class begins...Yes, this all happens in a one week time span in May. We are very proud of our soon-to-be-graduates, excited for the students beginning their clinical rotations, and look forward to welcoming the new students at orientation. I will do everything I can to provide a detailed and clear understanding of our application process by way of this thread, online information sessions, and email correspondence. Good luck with your CASPA and Penn State secondary applications. Caryn Stopper Director of Admissions
  2. Have anyone heard back from the program? I have received the confirmation end of July. Nothing after that.

    Academic Infractions

Hi all. So as I was filling out my CASPA application and stumbled upon the Academic Infraction section. At my first school I was put on disciplinary suspension for a year over an incident that was COMPLETELY blown out of proportion. I was in a physical altercation with another student at an off campus party - she initiated, I defended myself, she reported me. Not that I don't blame myself because I am still to blame but I feel that it's a huge red mark on my otherwise really good application (>1000 hours of HCE, honors, certifications, awards, etc.). I am obviously always going to admit to it on my applications because I feel that it is an integrity thing.... BUT will the committee totally overlook me just because of that incident? Or do I still have a chance???
  4. I went to a school my freshman year and did terribly, changed my major a couple of times and later transferred. Stats: cGPA: 2.5 sGPA: 3.8 GRE: 328 HCE: 6,000 + hrs (Nurse Assistant) Shadowing: 0 (in progress) Several leadership positions Some volunteering (10 hrs. Still in progress)
  5. Hi everyone, I am looking for the opportunity to shadow a PA in Boston. There is only one very competitive shadowing program here so I was wondering if there are any PAs that would personally want a shadow-ee :) Thank you!
  6. Hello! I was wondering if anyone accepted into this program could share or message their application stats (gpa, HCE...), I want to know whether, if I were to apply in a later cycle I could be considered a competitive applicant. Thank you for reading this and thank you for your time, I appreciate it a lot! -Maylily7 P.S. I'll put my stats here if ya want to comment on my chances of acceptance: cGPA 3.7, sGPA 3.5, Dean's List 7/8 semesters (currently in my last semester), about 100 hours volunteering for my school's EMS. I don't have a lot of Patient care hours but I am hoping to take a gap year and work on that. I also hope to retake the GRE to improve my score as well. Again, thanks so much!
