  1. Hi everyone, I wanted to start this thread early so we can share our experience! Goodluck!
  2. I'm attending Arizona State University online. I live in Georgia and I'm 24 years old. ASU is a quarter-based system, which means I get college credits on a quarterly basis instead of a semester basis. All PA and AA schools (I'm interested in both) require a certain amount of prerequisite hours, but at ASU, I would be about an hour or two short in a lot of them, like biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, etc. So, me getting a degree in biology from ASU is kind of pointless, because I'd have to take some additional prerequisite classes at my local college anyways. I should also mention I have
  3. I am a student at the University of Georgia. I would like to shadow a PA to make sure this is the career I would like to pursue. If you would be willing to let me shadow or know someone who would, my email is eej83717@uga.edu Thank you!
  4. Hi Everyone, I am looking for shadowing opportunities in the Gwinnett Co. area of GA. Specifically, in Duluth, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Snellville, Norcross, or even Suwanee. I work in a clinic full time right now, usually from 7am-3:30pm. I can volunteer with anything you need as well. Most of my experience is in physical therapy (outpatient) as a front office manager/pt tech. Thank you! Janessa
  5. Good Afternoon Everyone, I am looking forward to a great application cycle. My CASPA is verified and I am awaiting supp. app. Let's keep each other posted! Good Luck!
  6. Hello all, I am attempting to prophylactically treat any confusion that may arise due to GRU changing the name of the university again. As of today, GRU will now be called Augusta University. I hope this clears up any discrepancy that may arise. I cannot deny nor confirm this going down better with A1 sauce or any prior Australian influence, but it could be gold. Good day, HS
  7. NEED ADVICE as to if this is a fair offer!!!! Privately owned new Urgent Care facility losing a PA (due to long commute) 10 minutes from where I will be living in GA. Benefits were posted as "robust," but they don't seem so to me. Trying to get a feel for if this is still a good offer for a recent grad. I have already verbally expressed my desire to work here and am on the schedule in August, but I have yet to sign the contract because I have some hesitations. -$47.50/hr -12 hour shifts during weekdays, 9 hours on weekends with some weekend time required (no big deal to me). I choose
  8. Thought this was interesting...and awesome. PA is U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Medical Director Meet Kyle Wilkens, MS, PA-C, L-ATC PA Kyle Wilkens, a 2007 University of Utah PA program grad, has a vital role to play in the Sochi Olympics – he’s the medical director of the U.S. Skiing and Snowboarding Association (USSA). As such, he and USSA Chief Physician Richard Steadman, MD, manage the care of the U.S. athletes competing in skiing and snowboarding. USSA is part of Team USA. Wilkens oversees the health and well being of these athletes. Named USSA medical director in 2010, he works fullt
  9. So I'm not sure how you guys are able to check on patient's filled prescriptions, but at my ED we can look up Rx's filled (within the past year or so) on our EMR. However, this only works if people use insurance to fill the Rx. if people self-pay, it won't show up. So if people get narcotics filled and self pay it will not show up. theres a (sort of new) program called the "Georgia Prescription Drug Monitoring Program" which is suppose to have a website that shows any and all narcotics filled in the state of georgia, for any patient. the website is http://www.hidinc.com/gapdmp/practit
  10. I recently got a Neurosurgery offer with base salary of $106K at a private practice in the Atlanta, GA area. No production/incentive bonus or sign on bonus. They offer health insurance, CME, professional dues and such. Since it's only a 20 employee company there is no 401K but they are working on getting it. The office has it's own surgery center/MRI/xray where the surgeon operates and runs clinic (with one PA) 3 days/week. The surgeon operates at the hospital 2 days/week. There is no ER call for this job, only clinic call. My duties will include everything from being first assist to rounding
  11. I'm wondering if anyone knows the specific answer to this in regards to the pre-reqs for SJVC...I'm a previous applicant from Bakersfield who has been working to improve my grades for the last couple years, and I'm hoping to apply again to this program for next cycle...but I've been having difficulties getting a spot in our local CC's anatomy and physio class... I've taken one half here at our CC, and due to there only being a few sections offered, I resorted to taking the other half at another community college out of town during a summer session, just to try and get it done before the ap
  12. I'm interested in forming an informal PANCE/PANRE Study Group to get together to discuss and prepare for the NCCPA Exam If there are any PA's of PA Students in the Atlanta / North GA area that are interested, please leave me a message here, or email me directly at chasholloway1211@yahoo.com ... Thanks
  13. I am a recent graduate of the University of Georgia currently working at East Georgia Regional. I am very much interested in becoming a PA and I am looking for shadowing opportunities in the southeast region of the state [however I would be willing to drive to other parts of the Georgia]. If you are a PA who wouldn't mind me tagging along for a bit, please feel free to email (sara05@uga.edu) or call (912-682-4506) at your leisure. Thank you! Sara
