  1. I am entering my senior year as a Biology major and looking to apply for PA school during the next cycle. I have been having a hard time finding PA's to shadow and am posting here in the hopes of finding somebody. I am able to commute anywhere around the Denver or Boulder area. I work as a CNA, volunteer in an ED and am active in a genetics research lab. I have nearly all of my pre-reqs for PA school but am wanting to shadow a PA before applying during the next cycle. I know that shadowing would be an extremely valuable experience and therefore appreciate any direction on where to look!
  2. One of the nice things about gender disparity in recent PA students and graduates is that there's no line for the men's room. Post your own AAPA 2019 observations below! First one to spot me and introduce yourself gets a to-be-determined prize. Void for people whom I have already met in person.
  3. Hi there! I recently graduated with a Bachelors in Biochemistry and Molecular Bio and I was pre-med. I'm taking 2-3 gap years to work/volunteer/shadow. I've shadowed before and have plenty of medical experience and I feel that I am most knowledgable about emergency medicine and immunology as those are the areas I've worked in. I'm looking for a PA to shadow (preferably in the ED) somewhere near Denver, CO. I would love to shadow evenings and/or weekends as I work Monday-Friday during the day.
  4. Hello all, I'm looking for opportunities to shadow some PAs in the Boulder/Denver area. I have a significant amount of patient care hours already but was hoping to gain some more and work with PAs in various fields to learn a bit more about the different specialties out there. Any information in regards to shadowing opportunities in this area would be more than appreciated! Thank you!
  5. Hello, My name is Matthew McClung, I am looking to shadow a PA in Denver, Colorado. This will be my first time shadowing, and I primarily just want to learn more about the PA role in the hospital setting. I am an EMT-b and have my undergrad in Biology, and have experience in the ED primarily. Please contact me if you have any questions for me, or if you would like a CV, or for any more information you need, or maybe even if you know of a good PA i could contact here in Denver (or anywhere in Colorado for that matter). Thank you everyone in advance
  6. hey everybody. 1st of all, congrats on getting to the interview. You have already beaten out hundreds and hundreds of other people! My name is Shana and I am a current student in Spokane site. I am also from Spokane. I know you all were looking at a place to meet up. Meeting up the night before is a great way to relieve some stress and get to know some of your future classmates. Plus, it looks amazing when you can spout off some personal information about someone else if you are lucky enough to get asked "why should they get in?" in one of your interviews. I believe they are suggesting some hotels right next to campus so here are my recommendations for where you can meet up that is within walking distance. Although, it is starting to snow here so you may not want to walk... -***Luigis Italian Restaurant (italian) -Azteca (mexican) -Chilis (a little of everything) -Zola (Apps, small entrees. Smaller place, also a cool bar. may be noisy and busy on a Friday night, probably good for 5 people or less. These are all close and can accommodate larger groups and would be fast. About 10 of us last year met for dinner and then we all met at the hotel in the morning so we could walk over together as a power group. Let me know if you have any questions about Spokane, MEDEX, or anything else. I will see you at the interview! Good luck! ~Shana
  7. Has anyone been interviewed for the boston campus, I have an interview coming up on Nov 21 and would like to know if anyone knows on what type of interview process thus MCPHS has. I have heard that we have to write an essay during the interview, so far I have been interviewed at schools who had Mini interview process so how should I prepare myself for this interview process along with essay?? I am really nervous and any help would be appreciated :) Also if anyone knows anything about how is the traffic and commuting services to and from the airport to campus and near by motels.
  8. I am looking to shadow a PA in an specialty in the Colorado Springs, Monument, Castlerock, Southern Denver area. I am a Pre-PA student looking to get my foot in the door somewhere! Contact me if you can help, thanks!
  9. Hey Everyone, I just wanted to start a thread for those starting June/2011. I attended five other interviews and University of Colorado blew all of them out of the water, by a long shot!!! Good luck to all who are going to be interviewing. The staff is phenomenal and the facilities meet their unmatched kindness. Good luck!
  10. Hi, my name is Billy and I have completed all my pre-requisites for PA school and have applied to the recent 2010 cycle. Regardless, I am searching for opportunities to shadow a PA and would gladly appreciate any help in pointing me to the right contact or any opportunity to shadow in the Denver metro area. Thanks, Billy
