    Too late to apply?

If a school's deadline is August 1, and people have already started interviewing, would it be too late to apply now? Also, the school requires all 3 recommendation letters to be submitted before considering an application, and I only have 2/3 letters right now. So is it too late to apply now that it's June?
  2. I just reserved a room at the Palm Springs Hilton for the CAPA meeting, for October 8, 9 and 10. It's a room with two beds. Any females want to share a room and split the cost? My total cost was almost $600 including taxes, fees, etc for 3 nights. I used the CAPA code to obtain the rate. You can email me at pamelajeanwhiteley@hotmail.com or respond to this post if you are interested.
  3. Hello, I just registered for the CAPA NAPA conference w/ DEA course. I booked a room with two double beds at the hotel and looking for a roommate. Check in is 2/21 at 4pm and out 11am 2/22 (they can hold bags at front desk). Send me an email or respond to this post if you are interested. bonnie.joy@samuelmerritt.edu Bonnie
  4. I am Pre-PA and in the California Army National Guard. The PAs in my unit suggested I look into joining CAPA. After looking into the organization and what it does, I decided to join. San Joaquin Valley College is my PA program of choice, and I am determined to get in. I was curious if anyone knows how involved SJVC is with CAPA? I would thing the SJVC central location makes it ideal in being able to attend CAPA events and take advantage of the opportunities that CAPA provides. Thanks for any responses!
  5. Hi all PA-Cs in California. I want to get this message out there for the Controlled Substance Education Course, run by CAPA. We have 35 registrants so far and need 5 more to sign up by this Saturday, the 15th, for this course to continue as scheduled. Here is all the information: [TABLE=width: 680] [TR] [TD]This course is being held at the request of USC Class of 2013 and will be conducted a bit differently than other CSECs in that there will be no food and beverage provided by CAPA. The educational content and our excellent instructors, Andrew Lowe, Pharm.D. and Jeremy Adler, MS, PA-C remain the same. Reviews for the course are always exceptional. Please note, if we do not have 40 paid registrants by June 15, 2013, we will cancel the course and you will receive a full refund. Upon successful completion of the Controlled Substances Education Course, you may begin to write for controlled substances without patient specific approval if that task has been delegated to you and is reflected in a current Delegation of Services Agreement that has been developed in consultation with your supervising physician(s)and which has been signed by you and your SP(s). You do not have to take the course if you and your SP wish to continue with you obtaining patient specific approval prior to issuing drug orders for controlled substances. 7. Well as the question implies, just wondering if any of the 2012 applicants are reading any pre-PA or review books before school would potentially start for any of us that get accepted? I have been advised by a PA associate I work with to start going over anatomy, review some micro topics, & start reading up on things such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiology, etc.. in order to get freshened up on & learning some of these topics in greater detail before school starts to be ready when these topics come up. Does anyone have any suggestions on a few good books to get acquainted with? Pam maybe you have some insight on good books or topics to start with? I will ask my sister tonight as she is halfway through her first year at touro nevada. And I will post later what she suggests.
