Hello! I recently applied to Texas PA schools in June but I am looking for more ways to gain more shadowing hours for the next application cycle in case I don't get in! How have y'all approached shadowing during COVID? I'm just not sure that PAs would let me shadow them because the COVID risks and social distancing and everything. What experiences have you all had? I am from Texas by the way! COVID precautions are getting pretty relaxed here. I have an opportunity to shadow an orthopedic NP. Do you think that PA schools would see that as valuable? Good luck to everyone applying this cycle!

I am a junior pre-PA student located between San Antonio and Austin really needing shadowing hours. I understand because of covid this may be more difficult to obtain, but I am a fairly average (maybe slightly below average if I am being honest) candidate and would like to do everything I can to give myself an extra edge.

Hello everyone! My name is Yanka, I am a rising junior, and I recently decided to pursue a career as a PA-C. I chose this career path because I can study for an additional two years and get out into the real world to practice, I also prefer to study the Medical Model, and the work/life balance is very ideal because I love spending time with my family. I was just wondering if there are any opportunities for online shadowing, or any PA-C’s in Massachusetts or Rhode Island offering opportunities to shadow. Please let me know. Stay safe! Yanka.

Hi guys. I'm in the process of applying to the SUNY Downstate PA program. While I have all the requisites down, the supervisors that need to write the letters confirming my hours spent shadowing there might delay handing them in. I was wondering if I could hand them in after the deadline? In the SUNY Downstate application, they often 'flag' a page before you can move on if there are important bits of information (i.e. birth date) that you forget to fill in. However, they don't flag the page if I don't upload any sort of document, so I'm guessing this is optional - I hope I'm right. I can vouch for my hours, but only after the aforementioned parties hand those letters in.
