  1. Hello all San Diego PA's! I'm looking to shadow a Physician Assistant of any specialty here in San Diego County/Temecula area . I am studying pre-PA coursework at a local college for pre requisites and have been an EMT in San Diego for 8 months.I am professional, passionate about medicine, and inquisitive. I would be very grateful for any opportunity. Thank you for taking the time to reading my post.
  2. Good Afternoon PA Family, I am an EMT on my path to physician assistant school and I am looking for someone to shadow in the greater San Diego County area. The specialty of the PA is NOT of the utmost importance, but if I had a preference it would be in ER, Pediatrics, or any primary care. However, I would be grateful for the opportunity to shadow a PA in any specialty. I am very curious, have great interpersonal communication skills, professional, and most of all have a passion for PA medicine. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on here. Sincerely, Andrew
  3. I am a PA student at Midwestern University in Downers Grove,IL. I am originally from CA and will be moving down to San Diego after school. I was wondering if there are any preceptors down in the area looking to take on students for an elective rotation from 6/26/17-8/20/17. By this time I would have already completed all my core rotations. I can be reached at dfrantz58@midwestern.edu
  4. Has anyone here completed the emergency medicine fellowship for Navy physician assistants at the Naval Hospital in San Diego? I'm very interested in this program and would love to hear from someone who has done it. Thanks! http://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=78855
  5. Hello, I just graduated with Bachelor's in Biology at UCSD. It has not been long since I've learned about PA and that I realized that this was what I do for my life. But because I decided on this a little later than I should, I am lost. I still have about a year sequence of prerequisite courses to fulfill and about 2000 hours of direct care ( I am thinking about getting a certificate @riverside community college-- considering the prerequisites, tuition, distance of the program, but where I go does not really matter as long as I can afford the tuition.) I really wish to get a paid direct patient care job (because I am financially independent) but most of them I researched are either volunteering jobs or require certificate. Other than CCE (for it is only for 3months), do I have any other options? I also considered getting a certificate but I see they are all time consuming programs. So my questions are: is there a relatively short term certificates for direct care jobs? or is there a paid direct care jobs that count towards PA requirements? Thank you!
  6. Does anyone have connections in San Diego with clinicians that would be willing to precept? I'm currently in the process of setting up my clinical rotations for next year and do not have any contacts in California. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
  7. Any information as to any PA's that are willing to allow Pre-PA's shadow around San Diego. Anywhere in the county is fine!
  8. I was told by USC that they would invite me for an interview -- IF and only if I am able to cram in some PA shadowing ASAP. Early January, I was thinking. This would be incredibly helpful and it'd mean a lot to me, as USC was the only school in my home state that I applied to. I've volunteered before (Santa Monica-UCLA hospital, as a CareExtender), but that was a while back in 2005-2007. Any help or leads would be so very appreciated. Thank you!!
