  1. Hi everyone, I'm currently a sophomore in my undergrad and I plan on applying for the 2022-2023 cycle, at the end of my junior year. I'm working on my application slowly throughout the year so I'm ready to submit early in the cycle (mid-May) and get a head start for programs with rolling admissions. However, my university won't release my second semester junior year official transcript until mid-June. That means if I submit my application mid-May, I'd only be submitting my official grades up until my first semester of junior year of college. Should I wait for my official transcript
  2. Hi everyone! I’m looking to take on some more pre-PA students who need help with CASPA review, personal statement brainstorming/editing and interview prep. I’m 4.5 years out of PA school with experience in NYC and Baltimore and am a former interview committee member! Please send an email to applyingtopaschools@gmail.com for more info and pricing!
  3. Hello! I thought I would get the forum for the SIU application started! Has anyone had trouble filling out the supplemental application? There is no option to choose "Summer 2022".
  4. Hello everyone! Thought I would get this page started so we can help each other out through this process. Good luck!
  5. Hi everyone! This is my first post so be forgiving if I don't have proper forum etiquette lol. So I am extremely nervous to apply this cycle, 2021-2022, because I feel as though my application is not going to be that strong. Here's what I have (keep in mind that I am a junior in college, so I have some more classes to take): cGPA: 3.27 sGPA: right now I have a 3.1, but after this semester I am thinking that it will be around a 3.3 HCEs: over 2,000 as a CNA I haven't asked for LORs yet, but I am sure that those I ask will highly recommend me (crossing my fingers!). I do
  6. Hey everyone, I am putting together my application for the upcoming cycle. I am at the part where I am inputting my transcript and can't figure out how to classify some courses taken as part of my Health Sciences major which kind of 'umbrellas' subjects under health care. The course in question is: Marketing in Healthcare. My dilemma is classifying this under either: Health Science Marketing Health Science Administration Please help
  7. Hello, this is my first time posting on this website and am hoping to get some help. I just made a profile on the CASPA website recently. When I went to look for these two programs I am interested in I could not find them. Do programs not show up until certain times during the year? Thank you in advance.
  8. When should someone create a CASPA application? It’ll be a couple years before I start applying as I’m still trying to get my pre-requisites under my belt. I thought it’d be a good idea to start one now and add as I go along? Any thoughts?
  9. Hi all, new here! Thanks in advance for the help! I'm under the impression that you aren't supposed to include experience that you received academic credit for in the experience section. If that is the case, why is there a "received academic credit" option to select for experiences? From my previous healthcare degree, I did a number of internships and a residency program that I received academic credit for but on my transcript, it just says "internship hours" or "practicum hours" and provides no detail about the experience. Can I list the details of the experiences (as they wer
  10. CASPA failed to process my application before the deadline of October 1. They apparently had an issue processing the COVID—19 Transcript Delay Form. I checked in both through phone and email, and still, they failed to verify prior to the deadline. I submitted all material July. has anyone else had this issue?
  11. So I am applying for this cycle and I previously entered my job in experiences as current. after submitting the application I had to quit this job because it was a terrible work environment. However, it is in CASPA as current so idk what to do. I also got a new job but it doesn't start for another week and I was going to submit my apps this weekend so i am not sure how to go about this. Also is it better to apply sooner with less PCE or later with more PCE???
  12. hello, i'm considering applying this cycle after completing my BSc in biology this past spring. i'm not sure if there is anyone here who has had an interview invite or being accepted with similar stats. your input is greatly appreciated. thanks cGPA:3.3 sGPA: 2.97 Volunteering 1500 PCE 11280 hrs HCE: 4500 shadow hours: 120 LORs: 1 MD and 2 PAs no GRE score, no research hrs
  13. My CASPA application was recently verified 2 weeks ago. However, I am still completing some applications on CASPA and I was wondering how to go about updating my current HCE experience? I have a full-time job, so I already accumulated about 80 hours since my application was verified. Do I need add new HCE experience (with the same description) that is already listed as "till date"? Also, how do you update current experience (if at all)? Do you write the start time from which you started the job or the start date from which you last updated that type of experience from when the application was
  14. Hello Everyone, I am finishing up my achievements section under CASPA and I have a lot of scholarships to include. I have more than 15 scholarships, some merit based and some need based. I don't know if I should include dollar amounts on the description. Some are as small $500 and some as high as $35K. I'm not sure the amounts are appropriate or relevant. I am honestly very proud of all of them because even a couple bucks helped me a great deal so I'm okay with listing. What is your take on this?
  15. Hello, I'm having a little panic session right now. I submitted one application and realized I did not add the last name for a PA that I shadowed in my experience section. Is this gonna be a major issue for my application? I thought CASPA meant that I couldn't edit the submitted application but that I could still edit the ones I had not yet submitted and now I realize I can't. Are schools going to fault me for this?
  16. Hello all! I’m relatively new to this site and it’s my first time posting. I recently submitted my applications and I received an email yesterday from a school about my grade in Orgo 1. I got a C- (ugh. I know) and they said that they couldn’t substitute Orgo 2 for that requirement. They asked if I would be interested in retaking the course which I am interested in doing if it’ll increase my chances of getting in. My question is: how do I go about adding that to my application if I’m not taking the class until the fall? Should I call each program I applied to and tell them my intent
  17. Hi! Does anyone know of any programs that once required the GRE and are now no longer requiring it this year due to COVID? I wanted to apply to a few more schools but haven’t taken the GRE. Thanks!
  18. Hi! I'm curious what other people have done in the past/suggest for adding collegiate athletics to CASPA? It was a huge part of my 4 years in college, and I was also a captain so I wanted to include the leadership aspect to my application but I'm not sure how to enter accurately. If I add being a captain under leadership experience, it requires me to select "Volunteer, Academic, or Paid". I currently have my sport entered under "Memberships" but I'm open to changing it to something different. Any suggestions/insight you could offer would be great! Thank you in advanced!
  19. Thought I would get this started, anyone submit yet? I submitted my CASPA on 5/12, supplemental 5/13, and GRE on 5/13 as well!
  20. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for Professional Transcript Entry to be completed? I paid for the service before finding out that it might be more time saving to do it yourself. I submitted my CASPA on 5/16 and now I'm just an anxious ball of energy waiting for them to enter my courses.
  21. Hello everyone! I thought I would start a thread for this cycle. Waiting for my transcripts to be received by caspa and then I plan on submitting.
  22. Hey good people! I hope you’re all well and healthy during this COVID-19 outbreak. Just wanted to start this early and see your progress on the 2020-21 PA applications!
  23. Hi all, can someone please tell me my chances of being invited to an interview or give me suggestions as to what I should do to improve my application? I would really appreciate any input. I’m applying next cycle (2021-2022) thank you in advance! Btw I calculated it the way caspa would using ThePAPlatform gpa calculator. cGPA: 3:77 sGPA: 3.3 ~1400 hrs as a CNA ~200 hrs as a behavior therapist (it was cut short due to COVID and I have to move back home hours away) I just got offered a job at the front desk at the chiropractic office I’m getting treated at (I r

    Experiences

Earlier this year I attended a PA school virtual fair in which multiple people said you want to be as descriptive as possible in your "experiences" tab on CASPA. I have worked several CNA jobs with different companies, but the job and work I did was basically the same. I'm looking for some advice... should I be redundant so I don't leave anything out in the work I did or should I try and pick out things that are more specific to each job? For example I worked in two nursing homes as a CNA and then as a traveling CNA with 2 agencies at the same time. Anyone able to give any feedback? I feel as
